That is a neat build. Did you take the "bright" pix in direct sun? If so, you can get brighter pix that are not too bright by using indirect sunlight. The interior looks fantastic!

Just beautiful! And from back when NASCAR was NASCAR. I remember watching those races that September. I believe Harry was in an accident at Martinsville, and Buddy Baker said "well, he isn't winning four in a row!" But of course, he did! Thanks for posting this - brings back good memories.

I bought this kit at least 15 years back when I was in the LHS and thought “I need to try a Fujimi kit.” I later read it’s not considered a great kit. While that is true of the chassis detail and engine, I think it built up to be a great-looking shelf model. The stripes are Tamiya White and the red is Tamiya Italian Red, both from rattle cans. I didn’t use a clear coat. So I waited about 15 years to build it, but I’m glad I finally did!

As Dave Van alluded to, the laser and inkjet inks are translucent, not solid. Therefore the paint shows thru. Depending on your artwork, it may be possible to print on white decal paper, but that doesn’t work for a lot of designs. in the pic, both the d-con and no mouse logos were inkjet printed on white decal paper.

If all else fails, I was happy with the results of using Tamiya Metallic Orange out of the rattle can on my build.

Well that was fast! Got mine in the mail today in Utah.

It is massively overdone - looks like a Transformer, not a Corvette. But I read it’s the best selling Vette ever, so I guess the performance and price have made up for the appearance - and perhaps a lot of guys in their ‘60s (my age) like the look.

It does! Normally 1971 Shelby’s remind me of late-era Javelins.

That came out well! On mine I filed down the carbs some, possibly hollowed out the air cleaner some, and was able to get the hood to close. It took a while!
