Models in the movies
skymnky721 replied to ReptileGuy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know this is a bit off topic,,but have you ever watched old Godzilla movies from the 60's? and its amazing the model sets they used/made,,working tanks,,jeeps,,city dioramas,,freeways,,,jets that have the fishing line string attached to them,,soring thru the air,,wild stuff. -
Howdy all,,hope your getting some warmer weather wherever your at! I was going thru some inventory in storage here,,and ran across this OOB bx AMT 58' Edsel pacer,,its about 10 yrs old or older,,not sure,,Ive had it a awhile. But a great build as far as the kit going together well,,no probs. Gobs of BMF on this one,,whew!,,took awhile to do. But I like the kit overall,,Cheers!

Thanks Slusher,,I still have the feul runs ,,carb linkage, hoses,,and all the custom stuff to put on it yet,,this kit came with alot of x-tra air dams, and a small wing for the top of cab,,roll bar+lights on them, side mirrors,,tool bx type cover for back bed,,pretty cool kit,,I wasnt sure about it at first,,its turning out to be a decent little kit. hope this finds you well,,,S

Howdy all,,takin' a break from cars on this one. Got this @ a swap meet,,its a 1990 AMT "Sportside" Chevy PU. I was going to just do total bx stock,,no wires,,plumbing ect,,but as it came along that changed, lol. I used flat white primer,,w/testors Lime gold over it,,1 coat,,thats it. The high rise mtr setup is kit supplied! Nice to you,,AMT! Rims are the kit supplied also,,but not the tires. I like a bit more aggressive tires on this one. It should make a nice tow trk for the traliers w/cars on them. Thanks for looking,,Cheers!

LOL,,thanks Chuck,,yea the only reason it got a hemi is because I didnt have a Boss 429,,or Boss 302,,or a 427 side oiler to put in it,,so I used what I had. The next one will have a Boss 429 in it ,,,with giant injection stacks!,,lol,,,thanks for the kind words!

Thanks AM,,it was a tough build because I had to do it pretty much "by the seat of my pants",,there was no instruction sheet included with this kit,,lol. There are alot of things I learned about cutting/fab work from doing this,,which will serve me well later. Also,,{in case anyone was wondering} I know the side decals are from the Ray Fox/B Baker nascar shop, but ,they were the only Dodge related shop decals I had in my leftover decal bx,,and thats why I used them,,and this was built on a 0 $$ budget,,I couldnt afford any aftermarket decals. I just started an AMT 1990 Chevy C-1500 sportside truck that will be a stock build{aside from a few engine mods{wink,,wink} just to take a break from 'modifying" it. Thanks again for the kind words,,H appy Building!

Why thanks Bob,I think it turned out pretty much how I imagined it when I first started it,,I know one thing, theres not another like it out there,,I did web searches for a few days to see if I could find something similar,,aside from the exsisting flatoppers back in the day,,and today. Couldnt find anything. Now I know alot of Daytona Charger fans might not like what I did to this,,but since I already have 3 "Winged " Daytona/Superbird cars,,,I wanted to try something totally wild with this one,,dont mean to offend the original design,, just wanted to challenge myself to see if I could pull it off. Thanks for the kind words,,Happy Building!

Forgot about these,,

Thanks so much,,BTW,,whats a "bump"? not quite sure about that one. I was going to do this stock,,but I get bored sometimes with "stock" designs,,not downing the original design,,its great,,but i like to experiment sometimes. Thanks again.
