  1. My goodness,,love the color and detail,,great stuff
  2. G'morn,,hope your summer has been a good one. Ive been visiting Hobby Lobby these days,,every other week they a 40% off on kits. So,,for 13$ you can get quite a few cool kits,,maybe not the latest releases but still some fun kits to do. And here is the "Ol Pro" Nova everyone has seen for many years,,a cool kit,,aside from the separate front fenders that have to attached before painting{really?} But the motor and the rest of the features that come in the kit are great,,the decal sheet has many product brands to choose from,,very nice. I did the 70's version,,"jacked,,Stacked,,shackled up rear" Some basic wiring ect,,pretty much what I do to all my builds,,not a contest car,,just a nice one for the shelf! Rattle can sprayed hardware store paint,,testors bottle paint for everything else. Enjoy whatever you may have on the build bench! Cheers! SS
  3. Wow,,neat look to that. I did the tiki trike,,I may have to pick this one up,,nice job!
  4. Thats really neat,,I saw this in the LHS a while back,,I should have got it then,,today went there and the kit wasnt there,,darn
  5. Thanks ya'll. great kit to do,,hats off to AMT!
  6. Thanks folks,,enjoy yours as well! So many greats on here
  7. Happy summer to ya,,just finished this AMT 70' 396 Chevelle,,great kit,,had to be really carefull w/the decal stripes,,sprayed in Apple Red Rustoleum from the hardware store. My Mom had a blue 70 Chevelle,,just the basic one w/a 350 in it,,auto trans,,but I always liked the Chevelle. Went to many trips to MIS in her car back when. The rally rims are always a challenge to paint but they turned out ok. Another great kit from AMT! Happy Building.
  8. Awsome,,love the colors
  9. Hey all,,happy summer, havent been at the build bench in the past bit but finally getting caught up on some builds. Heres my version of the AMT PS 67 Chevelle. Nice kit,,love the pad printed rears,,had to do some modifying..but all in all ,,went together well. Sprayed in Testors quikdry Flaming orange {looks a bit rootbeer brown to me,lol} Used tamiya tape over white plastic body to get the stripes. Did some basic wiring+ plumbing. Hand painted rims, other than that,,just a basic PS Chevelle. When I get to Woodward Dream Cruise tomorrow,,I hope I see this there in form,,lots of PStreet cars running up and down there. Be safe out there! Build on!
  10. Wild puller,,I was watching some pulling just this weekend,,fun motorsport

  14. Love the flatops,,great job!
  15. So,,the local drag car guy down the street{circa 1969 if you will} is drivin down a country road one day,,passes a farm or two,,and behind one of the barns he see's just the back tail shape of the 59' Impala,,so he drives up the driveway,,knocks on the door and asks if the Impala is for sale,,the farmer says yes,,but the motors blown,,needs brakes,,interior is shot,,but Ill let it go for 150$,,car guy pulls out 150$,,says thanks,,and rounds up a few buddies to tow back to shop in his garage,,and wants to build a open top drag car out of it,,,,,,,8 months later,, hes got the IMPALA "X". In reality,,this was a 5$ 1/2 built glue blob in a ziplock bag I got at the NNL Macomb county Mi a few years ago,,and decided to give it a whirrl. I have no idea what brand kit it is,,or what year it was mfg,,it was quite old though,,the glue on it was yellowed and just about dried out and cracked,,you could pull everything apart by hand. Custom cut the chassis to fit drag rear end/slicks,,installed straight front axle from x-tra parts bx,,installed a blown 409 from the x-tras bx,,everything else is from the leftovers parts boxes lying around the house. Hand dremmeled the windshield from leftovers stuff,,, rims + tires from the leftover parts bxs,, Drag headers installed also. made seat belts for it. Lookin forward to seeing "IMPALA X" some saturday night at the local strip! Cheers!
  16. Thanks so much,,so many greats builders on this site,,enjoy looking at all yours also. This is a different version from the stock kit,,fun to do versions other than bx stock. Build on !
  17. Thanks all,,yea its kindof a dark orange,,was hoping it would have been more 'orange" than it is. Thanks for looks.
  18. My gosh,,Im stuck on these late 60's Ford cars recently,,here I took the AMT Shelby GT500 kit and did a drag version,,additions not included in kit : Headrests,,seatbelts,,rollbar,,drag slicks,, cragar mags,,,opened up rear wheel wells,,drag headers instead of stock exhaust,,lower radiator hose,,decals from leftovers from my stash. Rattle can sprayed W/ Testors Mystic emerald green. Hand painted 2 tone interior w/custom mixed paints. Hand painted window trim{s} w/custom mixed paints. Dremmel cut+ removed engine bay wheel wells. {so drag headers would clear} I did have to dremmel the top of gearbox down to get interior bucket to lay level so the entire assembly w/body on chassis was level,,but other than that it went together well. It will make a nice addition to the shelf display next to the Lawton stang. Wishing all a happy spring and hope its warming up where you are!
  19. Thanks so much guys,,always a fun era of cars to do. Funny,,I was thinkin,,the $$ value of the cars from the 40's to say about 1980 or so all have gone way up,, I think its because they were so simple in design,,and much more unique body styles,,pretty much rolling "artwork"
  20. Thanks all,,enjoy yours as well,,Build on!
