  1. Should be an interesting project. If you only had a race car to put on the back.
  2. Square for an AMT frame is not an easy feat sometimes. Looks nice. That Detroit Diesel sure is green.
  3. Those are awesome. Nice Photoshop work.
  4. Thanks, Sam. Your workbench might look like a bit of a disaster area right now, but you've made good progress on the frame & engine. Any plans on a color scheme?
  5. Where I grew up in Miami, FL, there was a company that used to have these 9500 that were use to haul trailers full of trusses. You always knew when they were coming down the road behind the house because you could hear them for at least 1/2 mile, and you could tell when they were really close because the trusses inevitably hit the low hanging branches! I think they had straight piped 6-71 in them. They were loud! I don't remember if they were long hoods or short hoods, though. Keep up the good work.
  6. Looking nice. I like the modifications you are doing to the cab & hood. Heck of a lot more talent than I! I had one of the Auslowe 6V92T engines, and I had a devil of a time trying to make the turbo cross-over pipe fit. Finally gave up & got a GW Trucks one. Good luck with your Backyard Shed one.
  7. Leslie, Define what you mean by "smaller"? The Chevrolet Titan/90 & the GMC Astro/95 (essentially the same truck) are Class 8 trucks, and are comparable in abilities with the Kenworth K100 or Peterbilt 352, just a lot less expensive. Here is a photo (be it not a very good one) of my Titan, Astro, & Cruiseliner sitting next to each other.
  8. Very nice job on the Pete. I like the subtle weathering, and it looks great with your reefer.
  9. Excellent build, KJ. Well done.
  10. Some nice looking Euro trucks. I don't think I'll be getting any of them though.
  11. That looks awesome, Tom. Very well done.
  12. All in all, I think it looks pretty good.
  13. Fantastic detailing on your tractor. The curtains are a nice touch, too.
  14. That looks awesome, KJ. Very well done.
  15. Thanks for the info, Charlie. That's a great build. There is nothing like that molded onto the AC frame, and this truck surely doesn't have airbrakes.
  16. Currently the only tractor that I have from a European manufacturer that is not in the box is a Revell of Germany Kenworth W900. I did put some of the AMT trailers behind it just for fun (didn't take any photos), and the only one I remember having an issue with was the Wilson Livestock Trailer because of the belly on the trailer & the long rear frame on the tractor. The fifth wheel carrier is molded onto the fifth wheel slide plate so you cannot change the location. I would think that is the landing gear is far enough back, then you shouldn't have a problem with the dry or refer vans, or the flatbed; but the livestock & lowboy trailers could present an issue. Since the car hauler & the Western Star 4964 are both Revell of Germany kits you shouldn't have an issue. Maybe.
  17. Make it a mixer, then he'll have a conniption.
  18. That's purdy! Looks like you got eh hood to sit better than on the gold one.
  19. Should be a nice build, Jeff. Did your kit come with the square tanks or just the round ones?
  20. Nice yellow! I like it with the black stripes.
  21. Thanks for the idea, Charlie. I might just give that a try. Do you know what they used to grease these chains? Was it something like chainsaw bar oil, or was it actually grease? Here is what she looks like now with everything just sort of placed on the frame. The cab, hood, & fenders are assembled & ready for paint. The body is in the assemble process now. I'm finding the green plastic not nearly as bas to paint as the red or blue plastic.
  22. I like it. The logo looks cool.
