  1. Those are nice wheels & tires. I might have to check with him.
  2. That's pretty cool. I'm guessing that you're going to be scratch building the V-drive system?
  3. It really is a great kit. For it's age, I'm really surprised at the fit and almost complete lack of flash. It's the same era as many of the AMT kits, but it's so much better. I guess that's way some people say that AMT stands for "Almost There". If I build another one of these Macks, I wonder how difficult it would be to back date it to a WW1 era AC. I know the British Army used them, not sure about the US.
  4. I started working on this yesterday for a simple project to "get the juices flowing" again. Essentially it will be built like the box art, but I will be using the "modern" frame mounted headlights and the front bumper guard. Haven't totally decided if I want to try to add spark plug wires to the engine or not, or if I want to source some resin balloon tires. Here is where it stands as of now. As you can see, there isn't any paint yet, but that too shall come.
  5. Very nice likeness of Alan Rickman as Severus Snape. At lease that's who it looks like to me. Well done.
  6. Excellent build, Max. You said that the kit was not a pleasure to build, but it looks like you overcame the issues. Very well done.
  7. Now available from GW Trucks: a short (108" BBC) hood for the AMT Chevrolet Bison or AMT GMC General. The hood is cast is smooth white resin, and is between 1.7mm & 2mm thick. The hood comes with the chopped right fender with a short piece to mount to the cab, and uses the kit's left fender, trim, hinges, and radiator shroud. If you are interested, you should contact Gary Wallace at gwtrucks@yahoo.com for pricing & availability.
  8. That looks great. It looks like it's been out west fighting fires.
  9. Looks really nice. Well done.
  10. That looks pretty good. You could do some darker, some grayer, some patches.
  11. So I managed to get some paint & decals on Sheriff the other day. The lights & sirens are just placed on the roof for the photo. I do need to strip & repaint the hood and the rear wheel fender cover things, but all in all I think it's coming along nicely. Hopefully I'll get the clear coat & BMF on it this week.
  12. Standing rigging would be black; ru8nning rigging would be natural rope colored (tan/light brown). Sails would be weathered canvas and tan.
  13. Arr, she be a fine looking ship. Standing rigging (ratlines) on ships of that era was heavily tarred hemp rope. Modern wire rope (steel cable) wasn't invented until 1834.
  14. That looks awesome. Love the cascade unit. Very well done.
  15. Be careful using telephone wire as some of it is stranded & not solid wire. Stranded wire will work well for chassis air lines, but will not hold a tight coil. If you need a tight coil (like for behind the cab), you're better off using Cat5 cable which is the cable that is used to connect a computer to a modem. The connector looks like the one on a phone cord (RJ11), but it's a lot bigger (RJ45).
  16. That sure is something. What is it, and what was it used for? When you said "Road King", I thought you meant this:
  17. I know, right?
  18. That looks really nice.
  19. Looks really nice. Why didn't you put the rest of the slogan on the right side of the turret?
  20. Where did you find that decal sheet? I cannot locate it on Round2's Website.
  21. It's a nice looking truck. Very classic Chevrolet. Maybe it's just me, I don't know; but I've always thought the turn signals on the hood looked like nostrils. Is that weird?
  22. That's awesome! Sign me up.
