It is probably smart to either figure or guesstimate what the entire value of the collection and then ask for half that price or slightly above if you want to move it quickly. Possibly getting someone to auction it would work, but that costs money and you would probably have to inventory and move it all. That would probably net the most money if there is good stuff there and the right bidders see it. I inherited my dads huge collection, around 2500 to 3500 items. 1/18 diecast and plastic models. All cars and trucks. It took me 2 plus years of selling on ebay, local fleamarkets and bulk sales to local dealers to get to a managable amount. Keep in mind I am into this stuff and know what it is worth. That is very different if you want to sell it realitively quickly. The adage " when I have it is worth a mint and when you have it, it's worth nothing" is absolutely true. It was a tremendous amount of work and aggravation to get it done. People chisel you on prices, stuff gets broken or damaged in shipping, ebay fees, flea market fees. Getting up at 0 dark 30, etc. If someone is not in to it, or doesn't know it is a gigantic hassle. Well, even if you are into it and do know it is a gigantic hassle.....Bottom line: the collection means something to the collector and maybe someone who understands it, but to everyone else it is just stuff and unless you get it in the right venue, you probably won't get near what its worth. And if you do, it will take quite a bit of time and work to make it happen. -

Speed parts identification, and period useage

The one in the '25 T is a Latham blower, I believe the one in the '57 Chevy is supposed to be a S.C.oT blower, The one in the '40 Ford may just be generic, I haven't really seen a real one like it. -
I had a large number of diecast, mostly in 1/18, but have sold most of them. I experienced a significant amount of paint rash or deterioration and models actually breaking apart. My models ranged from low line Maisto up to high dollar GMP, Lane, etc. (also mint cars) the problems did not discriminate. They were stored in a low light, climate controlled, indoor setting. It did not happen to all of them, but enough to discourage my interest in them. I am still buying plastic models, but I don't build much.....

No interest in the Buick, but I want both the stockers. Had them and sold them and now they are bringing a little $$$. Would be interested at regular new kit price. The GTX maybe for parts....

Nice job! I like the added details and paint! A friend of mine has a real 2016 Z-L1 and it is absurdly fast!

Was at the Ollie's on Airport Road Allentown, Pa. They got the AMT modern cars in : C6 Corvette convertible and coupe (2009?), 2010 Camaro SS, Chrysler 300 ( 2005?). Also had the AMT '55 Corvette. I got 1 of those. Still had the Lindberg '37 Ford Roadster hot rod, but all the other car stuff they had before was gone. Still had a bunch of Lindberg planes, boats and military. The one on Tilghman Street had the Lindberg '37 Ford, AMT Datsun 280 Z and Der Beetle Bus. Also the same tons of Lindberg planes. boats, military.

Nothing spectacular, but I went flea marketing today and found these. All unbuilt complete. The '55 Corvette is from Ollie's. Stopped there on the way home. There was a guy at the flea market that had a bunch of vintage stuff, built ups, parts and several started kits and empty boxes, but he thought he had a "gold mine" and his prices were a little too high for me, and he wouldn't budge, so I had to walk away. Would have bothered me years ago, but now I have the attitude of "if it's meant to be, great, if it's not so be it".

If you do an ebay search for the '71 RR that was made in 1987, the one I was talking about, you will see that according to the items that actually SOLD, my range is accurate. I simply looked at the ones with the price marked in green and that is what they sold for. I am also not talking about the original issue or the '72, they bring big money. It doesn't really matter anyway because the original poster has said he is more interested in getting the model to the masses than to get one or more for himself. I did not know that when I originally posted.

Not to be a wise a$$, but the last reissue of the MPC 1971 Roadrunner is not that hard to find, nor that expensive is it? I think they are around in the $30 to $50 range on line and probably a lot cheaper at shows. That translates to a little more than retail. There are tons of aftermarket parts, donor kits and decals for mopar stuff to make them better too. It sounds like you love the car and I get it, but it may just be easier to find what is out there.
