1950 Ford F-5 Grain Truck
larman replied to Keesee17's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice job. The weathering is right on. Reminds me of the old farm trucks that were around when I was a kid. -
Awesome build!

deep sump oil pan, prefer Cobra
larman replied to fiatboy's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
There is a deep sump oil pan for the SOHC 427 Ford in the AMT '68 Shelby and I believe, the '66 Galaxie. Both are not hard to find and cheap. If you check on ebay, one of the parts guys might have one or a whole motor. -
Look's great!

I am not a big truck builder, but I had one that I ruined as a kid. I might get one for nostalgia.

Great resto! Nice updates and the color is really nice! I like the wheels too.

Super job! Nicest build of that model I have ever seen!

They are usually common kits that have been done a bunch of times, so I think they can turn a profit on them even with the licensing fees. I agree that they mostly appeal to the collectors market. I doubt they are jacked up price wise at model shows and if they are, they wouldn't sell.

Wow! Nice build. We had a green '72, I will eventually build a model of it based on memory. I can't seem to find any family pics of it. I think my dad only had it for a few years. The Ford was used and he bought a new Dodge in 1978.

Shelby GT350 Rocker Stripes
larman replied to 250 Testa Rossa's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I am sure you could put the '65 wheels on a '66 if you wanted. I know there were some things carried over on the early '66 cars from the '65s. Whose to say you couldn't have a set of those wheels? These cars were a little more personalized than factory built stuff. I agree they are way nicer than the 10 spoke ones. -
Look's great so far!

I usually listen to The Jim and Sam show or Bennington, which are on XM/Sirius. I listen to them on youtube through my laptop for free. I also like Marc Maron and Jim Florentine's podcasts.

I agree, I don't know him and I am not doing a commercial for him, but he is top notch! Hope to see those motors built and in your "shop"!

Here are some of my favorites: Street Rodder and Neet Streeter are my favorites from when I was a kid, and Pass'n Gasser and the '55 Gasser are pretty cool newer castings.

More engines: Ah, I see you found topgaskz , he's my go to guy for parts on ebay. I recognize the packaging. I have a few thing arriving from him in a day or two!

Great work, love the B and R model Macks! They made them in my neck of the woods, so they were every where when I was a kid. Now not so much, lol! -
Great looking Firebird. Love the wheels, nice color too!
