  1. Does anyone have an answer to why this new release keeps getting delayed?
  2. I was reading here about fixing warped resin, thanks for the tip that resin is heat sensative. I used my trusty hairdryer method as I do on styrene ,with a little more caution, to fix a warped hood. Worked like a charm and very quickly, compared to styrene. I only needed medium heat and cool dried for a minute or so!
  3. Not sure if I get to finish, too much going on, but trying to get back into it. Ralley interior basically done. Man..look at that dust
  4. I recently bought a lighting kit (board) for the 66 Batmobile. Does anyone have contact info for 'Scale Model Action' guys from youtube, or a source to buy the lights? Thanks, Karl
  5. Beautiful piece!! I could definately see a market for those.
  6. Do you plan to shorten the body or leave as is? When you say 'regular car', the Vega is not that long. If you leave the same, I'd start with a 1/25 scale chassis, as the Vega is generally more narrow the a larger full size car. Just try to match up chassis width and length.
  7. I Googled it before and found a webpage or site that listed each one and what car it pertained to
  8. I would peal all you can, then use some sand paper to remove the rest which in turn will scuff the tires for a more realistic look.
  9. Although a bathroom vent may be sealed against moisture, that doesn't mean fumes also, especially if the fan is not completely sealed from the same air you are spraying in, the fumes can still get to the motor externally. The acrylics are no worry, but the lacquers or enamels , yes. Just something to think about
  10. I would start by waiting longer before any contact with the painted parts at all. I don't handle mine for a minimum of 4 or 5 days, if I know it will be masked off, even longer.
  11. I started using automotive acrylic enamel last year, my local auto paint store will mix as little as 4 oz. for me. I bought 8 oz of color for $9.50, using that in a 2:1 mix with lacquer thinner, that's at least 7 paint jobs including waste. The finish is so glossy, there is no need for clear, though I want to try to shoot some to experiment with.
  12. I used the hair dryer on high, takes a bit to get up to temp, keep heat moving even to surrounding areas. I taped and shimmed where needed to manipulate body. You must over correct the area to be straightened as the plastic will want use its "memory" and return to its previous shape, you are trying to change that "memory". It may take a couple tries to get it where you want it, better than melting it right away. Some say to cool it once you've heated it, but I just left it taped up till it cooled completely. Hope this helps!
  13. I used this, it's called Calypso by Testors, in Lacquer and it's a Ford color.
  14. What kind of paint and how did you apply it?
  15. Looks very cool as usual, makes a good Cannonballer, because if I seen that coming, I'd certainly get out of the way!
  16. My Cutlass will be on hold for awhile, have to find a house and get moved this summer. I'll still be here, just no time to build right now.
  17. I can't speak for HOK paints, but I use the enamels from my local auto paint supplier. I used the Donn Yost method of 2:1 with medium or cooler lacquer thinner, works great!
  18. Have a pic or brand name to reference from?
  19. I learned from Donn Yost and his awesome vidoes that a Passche single action gun works great. Easy to clean up, no more needle and seat clogs! I started using automotive enamels last year, the money savings alone would convince you to use the airbrush more, but I use a variety of paints, also cans for covenience sometimes.
  20. A can of spray I have (one of the Testors line) is called interior gray, it actually dries with a textured look
  21. Tried my old computer, PB would'nt let me copy from thumbnails, but from pic after selecting it. Have to call some tech on my 'new' computer!
  22. Do you mean a file name that I add? Whatever the computer saves it as is how I upload to PB.
  23. Well guys, I tried everything we just stated and nothing works, I have IE 11, updated PB info, and the compatibility setting.
  24. I have the same problem, I'll try your suggestion Jeff
