Where is the MODEL A COUPE? Well........that's all I had to say!
-
I didn't mean to personally challenge you, but ratter make some sort of a group build challenge, where a few people build a Tim-Boyd_themed 29APU. I think it would be interesting, because from what I see, even though you are trying to build a billet style rod, your traditional style is taking over. and it will be the same way with me. No matter how traditional I try to build a rod, my high tech style takes over. Either way, I'll take on the challenge.

I love it. This totally my kind of build. Following.

I got two of these bodies too and I can attest the the great quality. These bodies are just as good as the kit's part f not better. I have not started mine, but I have started work on the moredoor Duce, which is of the same great quality. To anyone who's thinking about ordering products from DragCity, all I have to say is order with confidence. Great quality product with equally great customer service.

I've always loved that kit.

I am pretty sure you can pull it off and you will have a blast doing it.Half the fun of these little gems is their simplicity and the great result achieved. They are super simple to put together, requiring no glue or paint and they display really well. This is what they look like in their package. Seven pieces if you count the two screws that hold everything together.
-
They are Japanese market only and have made pretty much all Ferraris. At least the significant ones. They come in series and the best way to buy them is if you find a complete box/set for sale on evil bay. They come prepainted and decaled already and are a total of like six pieces or so. Each kit comes with a tiny screw driver, as they assemble pretty much like a hotwheels car, except instead of rivets you have two little screws. They can be a lot of fun and display very well. hey can also get really pricey for certain models.

Is this based on a die-cast? -
So, what happened to the model A coupe?
-

Lose the front axle and make front shocks. Will look way better. That's what I did with mine. -
I have like two or three projects, started some time ago, based on this kit and a couple more based on chopped up Revell Tudor sedans. So I am very interested to see how this comes out. Phaetons are my favorite body stiles for '30s Fords. Can't understand why wouldn't Revell continue their '32 series with a phaeton.

I can't believe I have missed this until now. Absolutely incredible work. Very very creative and very well executed.

Thank you sir. -
This is what I think Revell should release based on their '29 kit next. Basically new body and interior with full hoods Picture is from the Detroit Autorama by Tim Boyd.

Rodney, on the last picture, where did the top come from? Or do you have link to a thread how you made it if that was the case? -
I would like to see any of the "long bodies". A '28/'29 and '30/'31 sedans would be great. Also add a full fender version. Whichever body they decide to go with, please update the rear end with a quick change.
-
What I meant was that they were not present on the picture, so oldrevellfan assumed the chassis was done.
-
Actually the suspension was quite creative. Dan is missing the radius rods both on the front and rear on his chassis. There should be a four bar front set up on the front, which essentially creates something like A-arms on the front.
-
Very cool project. Would love to see it finished.
-
Exactly! And I am not saying do just one or the other, but keep some kind of balance between the two and invest some in new product.
-
Looking great! I would just plan very carefully where to put carbon and where not, just not to end up waisting a whole lot of carbon and time for nothing, because some areas are going to be totally covered, like the top of the wheel wells I believe.

Yup! That's the attitude that got so many model companies out of business.
