  1. I like them! And you got seven more done than a lot of folks!
  2. I know the feeling.. I’ve had this image in my head forever... Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain
  3. Looks great, and in a color you don’t see on this car!

    My 2020

Very nice work! As Espo said, a clean build style. I Luv your pickup! And I too understand how one can get burned out by too much of a good thing!
  5. I already own a nicely built original issue that’s too nice to touch. So I really don’t need one... that said, someone mentioned that the kit was in Hobby Lobby, so I did take a look yesterday afternoon. And if they had them, I would’ve brought one home!
  6. I’m not really a big truck guy so I cannot argue for any specific modern subject. But putting my Round 2 logic hat on... First, which manufacturers, if any, are tough to impossible to deal with, licensing wise? Eliminate them. Next, let’s look at existing old tooling.. it’s been asked if the International Transtar tooling exists.. created back when Ertl was independent. If so, what repairs or modifications does the tooling need? Historically we know old tools are most likely to be missing the clear trees and tire molds.. so let’s say they can do this kit with very nicely done new tires... that would be an option, along with the usual Round 2 magic of great new decals and other little things. A possibility. Moving on with the Round Two usual MO... TV and movie ties. Let’s face it, big rigs have less sales potential than an automotive subject.. BUT remember that the TV and movie memorabilia market is much larger than either of ours! And a kit doesn’t need to be perfect for this crowd, considering most won’t be built. And at worst, as long as there is weight in the sealed box, we are good! So I will agree that Round 2 market logic would go.... and as mentioned in this thread.. the granddaddy of this genre would be the Duel Pete and trailer. It’s already been posted about a base kit that they could steal, or at least reverse engineer, the chassis from, so in my mind this could be a possibility. Moving on to modern subjects, Round 2 has obviously looked at the Moebius foray into big rigs.. was this successful to the degree needed to sink R2 capital into a brand new tool? I don’t know! Then again, we are all wrong.. as with our collective guesses on the wagon. Round 2 puts these little tidbits into their marketing to get us excited and doing exactly what we are doing in this thread! So be it. And we anxiously await!
  7. Looks like you had a great year despite (or maybe because of!) the world turmoil! I do enjoy seeing the models people from different lands and sets of experiences choose! And thank you for the banter on the board this year!
  8. I believe Round 2 already knows the outcome.. it’s in the preorders from dealers and distributors! If it wasn’t already successful here, they wouldn’t be doing them!
  9. Not a vehicle I don’t like! All winners!
  10. A chuckle- Last evening I was working late in the model room and decided the last thing I would do was to drill out an exhaust tip. I had a previously fine no. 72 bit in my battery power drill. The drill is spinning but I’m not making a dent in the plastic. I remember this thread and figure it’s worn out and I’ll deal with it in the morning. Then I’m laying in bed still thinking of it and I suddenly remember something! The last thing I did before this was to drill a little deeper in a hole I already had CA glue in.. aha! First thing I did this morning.. even before coffee was to check it out. I put a match to the bit tip and I watched the flame consume the glue! Tried it against the exhaust tip and it drilled like a champ! Moral of the story.. if you think your bit has gone dull, check it for contaminates. I know when I drill into old 1960ish plastic, it melts and plastic fills the drill thread.. I use a match on these too.
  11. Went to the HVAC and plumbing supply company and this very nice 69 Barracuda notch back was sitting there.
  12. Some good news! I have long hardtop coming! I also needed a right side long interior panel and that’s coming with it! Found another kit I never saw before In the basement this afternoon! Aside from the tires, the wheels and interior floor are missing. Oh well another parts kit, the price was right!
  13. ‘Was a good year! Congrats!
  14. Thanks! I just updated the post up top!
  15. Nice stuff! A good year indeed!
  16. Class of 76, we did that too. And I had my girl friend’s too. Came across the pair a few years ago, got them in my memory box.
  17. Here’s an old custom from back in the day!
  18. I love your truck and enjoyed watching you build it. And nothing like working on the 1:1 diorama.. you do have to be a diehard to install windows in the snow!
  19. I’m not a fan of the rear facing camera in my Hyundai Elantra. I find I have to constantly clean the lens or it’s distorted. And it doesn’t work well with different lighting. And the screen in my dash gets washed out with glare from sunlight. I do use it when backing up close to something.. I like the lines that show me the safe zone, and when I’m very close. I find myself automatically going back to my 40 years of training using my mirrors. Yes I use the right side mirror.
  20. Alligator ? catches ya!
  21. Ha! I have same mirror and ejector pin mark!
  22. Interesting Steve! I wasn’t aware that both sets of door panels came in that release. And interesting that they eventually pulled out the longer ones. They are tough to find. I have one set that I’m using on a build and one stray. I have a total of three kits, the 1968 box, the Safari and Wild one. I bought them used at shows so they may have mix or match parts. I’ve never had a long hardtop.
  23. Wow Steve! That's the long roof I've been looking for! The picture must be the first release from 1968. Safari version didn't come with long roof, and was in yellow plastic.
