  1. Great progress! I had the same wobbles with mine, turned out to be how the rear axle sat in the springs. Getting the chassis under the body has been a chore. I believe my frame is a bit warped as the rails past the rear axle lean to one side. I’ve glued up the chassis ahead of the axle and will glue and clamp the back end in place. Argh!
  2. You’ve done very well for someone who hadn’t built in some time! I’ve enjoyed watching your build threads and the banter!
  3. Nice work one and all!
  4. I don’t know the kit in question. And since you just joined the forum we don’t know your level of experience. Since complaining isn’t gonna change old tool kits, we figure out how to get these assembled with nice results. Asking “how do I?” will get you better results both on the board and with the kit. For instance, I pin a lot of parts to get better fit, an exact placement, or to be able to apply glue neatly. Take your roof mounts you mention. For placement of the horns and visor, I’d be figuring out exactly where I wanted those before I painted the body. Then drill small holes, like no 72 bit size, in that spot, and also in the part. Then I use a short length of straight pin for the installation. For the lights if they have chrome bezels do the same drill and pin. If they are like yellow clear parts, I’d place a piece of masking tape on the top of the painted body right ahead of where you want the lights. Then measure off the pattern you want and mark that on the tape. Last step is to glue, with either white glue canopy cement, or even use a drop of clear paint to adhere, in the positions you determined, using the front edge of the tape as your guide to get them straight, and your marks to get them spaced to your liking. The kits are what they are, and you can get good results if you learn the techniques.
  5. Hey you have enough time to post this as a 2020 build! If you’re missing parts post that on the board.
  6. A good year! I’m partial to your Jeepster since I’m very deep into building a couple of them! Hopefully 2021 will be a better year and we can all get together again to share our builds in person!
  7. Great models! You’ve certainly stuck to a theme. I love the rat and TROG eligible racer!
  8. Yup, I took a look at HL. Not a wasted trip, I got paint I needed with the magic coupon. I couldn’t remember where I saw it, this board or the Facebook ones..
  9. A great year! I’m in love with the Chrysler! Super idea to include the Fotki album links too!
  10. Interesting lot! I vote you for the most unique set of 2020 builds!
  11. Which really depends..
  12. Yes, it was Car Modeler number 34, Nov 1995. Thanks for remembering!
  13. Replaced the igniter on my furnace today. And unlike other things I’ve been doing lately, nothing went wrong and it’s toasty warm. And for $19! Last week we saw the next door neighbors had the obnoxious orange truck from the well known HVAC thieves in their driveway. This company starts every service call, before they even see your equipment, by telling you if your system is over ten years old you need a new one. The wife posted on Facebook that they had to get a new furnace. When I told my wife I fixed ours for $19, she asked me what I thought was wrong with theirs.. I replied, “Probably the igniter!”
  14. Ironically people are using the Internet to complain about technology! ?
  15. A great year for modeling for you! I like them all, especially the Mercs and the gold & black Desoto! Keep on building and here’s to hoping we can get together in the new year!
  16. Welcome!
  17. Yea, he just kinda mumbles along!
  18. I just came across this photo of some of the Falcon old built ups in my stash. I did restore the primer gray Ranchero from an original Craftsman kit
