  1. That’s pretty darn cool! The best models are the ones you give away as gifts!
  2. Another great build Chuck! You make it look easy! I never did get the Modelhaus Dodges but I have the one Charlie Rowley mastered. An FYI on the crew cabs. They were created so Dodge could bid on government contracts. I remember these running around the US airbase at Cigli in Turkey back in the day. And every one I’ve known as an adult in the car hobby started life as a fleet vehicle.
  3. First release in 1968 (2068-200) Someone told me the long roof hardtop was in this kit. Can anyone confirm / deny? This release with the long door panels. Second Year Release 1969 (2069-200) This release has long door panels, last version with them. Midyear 1969?? (401-200) Debut of pickup roof, rear cab panel and short door panels. Only release with the plow. Third Year Release1970 (2070-200) - Only release with Safari gear. Has some nice rifles. Fourth Year Release 1971 (1-7120) -- Last year of classic Jeep nose - Only year with goofy "Mild or Wild" parts. 1972 (1-7220-225) First year of new Commando nose. I believe this is the debut of the long roof. Was this the last annual? New Information: 1977 New Information- Kit 1-0872 from 1983 New Info- Kit 1-0751 from 1980 Autoscape with display base (L0912) 1984 or 1985 Stevens Release (38555) 2006 2018 "Retro Deluxe" release by Round 2 (887)
  4. It takes two to bid that up into the stratosphere! ? Seller started it at $9.99, one bid $40, so the other guy may have even gone higher. Same seller has other 65 Fairlane parts with some healthy bids on them.. including parts that are in the new Modified Stocker release.. for more than the entire kit will cost ya!
  5. Lunch! Corned beef with melted Swiss with banana peppers and spicy brown mustard on a wrap.. gotta watch my bread intake!
  6. Lookin good! You have two weeks to finish one to save the year!
  7. Hello muddah, hello...
  8. I’m back... Here’s the underside. Looks like little progress but is quite tedious since everything needs to key together... And with the floor glued in place. If you know this kit, note that the trans hump is a completely different shape to accommodate the transfer case and transmission from the Jeepster straight four. The floor also covered up the glue showing in the first photo. Anything still showing is under the chassis rails when done. Tomorrow I’m hoping to mate this with the finished chassis. Then it’s all little details beyond that!
  9. Looking great! I’m getting ready to mate my body and chassis, hopefully tomorrow!
  10. I like it! I have a dark red one sitting in the corner of my workbench to finish one of these days. Mine started out as a 56 Ford
  11. Nice work! I like the stove.. less than five bucks too!
  12. That looks great! I like the lights. Funny thing, I opened that kit within the last half hour, it’s still on the arm of my chair.
  13. Getting my Rubix Cube together! I had cut apart the Jeepster interior to mold in the pickup bed. Nobling is building the same kit and we’ve been comparing notes. He warned me the kit’s windshield interfered with the dash bottom. I was past that step, I cut mine from Evergreen clear sheet. I knew the remaining interior wouldn’t slide in as a unit. Here is the door cards that I glued inside the body, while capturing the dashboard between them. Next step was the back wall of the cab, which needs to key in between the door cards and the fixed pickup bed. To add to this, it also needs to match up with the pickup roof. Lots of temporary taping and that’s all drying now. Tomorrow I can glue in the floor and maybe get this all mounted onto the rolling chassis.
  14. Aside from my pink and white, I restored two old customs. Doors work on one, glued shut on the other because they were already broken off. I do have that old custom with the Continental wagon roof on the bench, and that one will be glued shut.
  15. Looks great! Those oldies do build up well.
  16. Gotta love it! I’m sure your friend will be pleased ?
  17. Looks great! The doors and hinges suck on this kit! The drivers door, left side in USA, came off its hinge early on and has spent the last 30 years just wedged into the jamb!
  18. I have a small battery power drill I use for these size bits. I understand Tamiya sells one you have to put together. There is a big difference between this and hand turning the pin vice
