  1. The bears are a German cultural thing. Where you didn’t see these here in the USA until maybe 1980s, they’ve been sold in Germany for eons. I remember them as early as 1966 so most Germans our age grew up with them
  2. My wife’s younger brother works for a railroad. His job is to investigate fatalities. He has some interesting stories, and yes the lawyers have a field day.
  3. I’m on my iPhone. Right now there is a huge ad at top of this page for face masks. There are four ads between the posts and two at bottom of page.
  4. When I get to final assembly, it’s more like “do one thing, walk away until it dries”. Like my current project. This morning I put exhaust onto chassis, letting it dry. Last evening I discovered the windshield had a big scratch on the inside. Of course it was already installed. Pulled it out, found another windshield. Masked it off for the black trim. Sprayed it quick. Walked away to let dry. This morning I removed the mask and installed it with canopy cement, now drying! This afternoon? Install interior rear view mirror, two minutes. You guessed! Walk away and wait for it to dry!
  5. Looks great! One of my favorite kits!
  6. I love to do BMF! There is no one task that shows progress better. i dislike polishing anything! So I seldom do.
  7. I see you are keeping busy! Brilliant car!
  8. I bought 6 of the Lindberg 64 Dodges that were on clearance at Spotlight Hobbies just for the slant six engines for my future Valiant builds. That is the best slant six ever in a kit. Then I saw that the chassis fits nicely under Johan sixties Mopars. Kits I will always buy for $10 or less just for parts... 1950 or 1955-57, 1960 AMT Chevy pickups 1950 Revell or 1953 AMT Ford pickups 1941 AMT Plymouth for the flathead six 1971 AMT Duster or 1968-9 Revell Dart - chassis for Valiant builds. Monogram 1/24 scale Model As There are others, just the list off the top of my head
  9. My wife noticed that our nesting robins are back and seem to be tending to little ones in the nest. They are again up atop one of our backyard flood lights. A bit too high to see in the nest.
  10. In my hometown of Hazlet NJ we have Natco Lake, which is salt water fed from tidal waters in the bay. Every so often the police go fishing and pull some cars out. They corrode pretty fast in salt water. Figure they are stolen cars and insurance fraud cases.
  11. It’s a way of life! I go to a lot of shows and constantly buy cheap kits for parts. In fact the 1950 Chevy pickup I’m building right now has come from three $5 parts kits.
  12. Thank you Dave! All seems well on my iPhone in Pennsylvania this morning!
  13. Very nice! I looked at your album at the engine and chassis shots too. Back when these were new GM had regional drive events that they invited current owners to. My buddy got invited so we went two years in a row. They had a small course coned off and let you drive these. What fun! Like a Corvette pickup!
  14. I don’t remember the majority of my dreams, sometimes I’ll wake up remembering but will soon forget it. I have had recurring characters in my dreams. There is a little girl with a long dress and a black and white cat that seem to follow me around. I once asked the girl why the cat followed me around and she said, “His name is Alves and he likes you.” I’ve never owned a cat but they do seem to like me. There is a cat named Hunter in my neighborhood who comes to visit and will wind up in my lap if I let him. One day I was at the garage that worked on my cars. The owner had several cats there and that day a black and white cat jumped up on the counter and was nudging me to pet him. The garage owner laughed and said he must like me. He was looking for a home for him and I could have him if I wanted. I thought for a moment that I could indeed have my own Alves!
  15. Very nice! I’m enjoying the interior work, especially the seats.
  16. Cool! Dodge Caravans have been a big part of my life. We owned three, an 84, 90 and still have the 1996 high top with over 200,000 miles. The perfect family haulers. I started a shortie Caravan but it’s back in the box. Once I took the length out of it, the whole thing looked square.. as wide as it is long! You are doing good, I’ll be watching.
  17. I was thinking of this project last night. I was watch this weeks “Restoration Garage” off my DVR and a guy demonstrated all the working features on a Westfalia camper from the early 1960s. He assembled the side tent, which included a private area for a portable potty. The middle seat broke down into a bed, while the front seat became bunk beds. Interesting demo!
