Mashpee 354 is finished.
Tom Geiger replied to Chariots of Fire's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Beautiful model as always Charlie! Hope to see it and YOU in September! -
The new tube I just opened has a nice consistency. My last tube separated over time into harder white and clearish liquid. That one I tossed. I don’t like the way the Tamiya putty sands.

Godzilla size shrimp?

Sure they’re shrimp ?

Rich, glad to hear things are going well for you. Looking forward to seeing you in September!

I only use it for small things like repairing nicks where sprue removal was done carelessly. It worked well on a few repairs this week

Did my eBay order last week. I just shopped by price, including reasonable shipping, and location. Found everything from NJ. Ordered on a Thursday afternoon, received in Saturday’s mail.

1970 Ford F 350 tow truck
Tom Geiger replied to leafsprings's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great truck! I’m gonna have to put one of my Moebius pickups on the bench soon! BTW.. you guys know that decal references to Burket Ford, Burket Construction etc are for Dave Burket, aka. The Model King. Dave was instrumental in the ideas and execution of this series as well as financing some of the tooling. -
There is a big hollow tree on the edge of my property that belongs to the neighbor. The woman who lived there ignored my request to have it removed. At one point a tree service knocked on my door about the tree and I sent them to her house. I did send her an email so I’d have proof of negligence if the tree hit my cars or house. Last summer the house got sold and I thought the inspections would require the removal, but nope! New folks have been there since September. When I met them they asked where the property line was and I walked it with them and explained the tree. They said the seller told them it was my tree. So I don’t know if I should pursue making them take it down and make an enemy, or just use their denial of ownership to pay and get it removed.

Leroi "Tex" Smith's Fiat Street Rod
Tom Geiger replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I saw a stock Topolino on Chasing Classic Cars last night. I did a double take that only the very front edge of the hood actually opened to reveal a very tiny little engine! -
Stinking it up

itsa six. Sorry for fuzzy photo, I just went to take better pix and it’s now raining out! The street rod version of the kit has the chrome valve cover, chrome air cleaner over the single carb and a single exhaust down to a cherry bomb type muffler, which those dual pipes we both like exit. I would’ve loved to have dual carbs over a split exhaust, but it’s a quick build during captivity!

That’s how I’ve bought all the old rare kits I’ve wanted. Set the search and watch the emails they send you. Bid your reasonable number on ones you like and eventually the right combo of right car at right price will come together.

Cool! I love the dashboard! I put a 53 Studebaker dash in my 34 Ford.

Bingo! This isn’t meant to be a new kit nor an exact replica. It’s a nostalgic repop of the Fire Chief version as it was originally released.

Living the life of a house cat! I’m here in the house with my wife and neither of us are working. We are okay financially but as said, worried about our retirement savings. We go out for a walk every day and exchange a few words with neighbors as we pass each other. Keeping in touch with family and friends via social media and now in Zoom meetings. Going out for groceries and beer once a week. Haven’t had to buy gas since this all started and the wife had a dead battery since the big Buick hadn’t been started in weeks. I’m cooking nice things to brighten up our days, just put tonight’s pork chops in marinade, will be grilling them later! I’m getting some yard work done and spending time at the bench. I finished one I started a few weeks ago, so now I will work on a few existing projects that need to be finished. Otherwise we are trying to keep our attitudes positive and get through each day! Be good folks, we will get through this mess!

Cool. I'll be watching! I have one of those too. Mine is a badly started kit, all the parts off trees in a warped box. I found it at a Toledo show many years ago for $10. I thought for sure it would be just a parts kit, but once I did inventory I found that it was missing one part... a gas cap! I should build it.

Automotive (and other) toys from our childhood
Tom Geiger replied to Harry P.'s topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
So Cool Scott! I remember having that bag as a kid. There were a few different sets, maybe from different companies. I have a handful today, whenever I find them in the bottom of a junk box at a show I will buy them unless the vendor is unreasonable. BTW.. the Comet was supposed to be an Edsel model, but became a Mercury when the Edsel brand was discontinued. -
1962 F100 rebuild

actually the real letters are pretty big! A bit more narrow, you may want to sand your tailgate and just make a decal for the letters
