Slant Six! That woke me up! ? I did put that flatty in my 34 Ford rod just for fun and the odd looks I’d get from purists.. ya know, the guys who would’ve thought a Chevy V8 in there was fine and dandy! Here’s my flathead six reference file: https://public.fotki.com/ModelCitizen/11_car_reference_library/engine_details_for/mopar_flat_head_six/

Great! Glad to help! And you know how I figured it out! ? -
My irk? I had an annoying dream! I was at a model car event and was putting my models into categories and when I went back, they weren’t there. Of course the models in my dream weren’t anything I own! Then someone asked me what engine was in one of my models, I went to check and the hood was solid.. like a curbside top and bottom.. but I had remembered building an engine! Then someone picked up one of my models and was carelessly waving it around showing it to his wife.. the chassis separated and went flying. The guy wasn’t apologetic, he said he guessed it wasn’t built very well! That sent me off around the venue in a panic looking for glue.. then I woke up! My first half asleep thought was to go back to sleep so I could find the glue and fix the model! Then I realized it was only a dream and I’d never find the glue. Funny thing, I didn’t recognize any of my models nor anyone in the dream. Odd! And frustrating! Then I saw it was 8am and got up.

Relax Les! Take a step back and regroup. It’s not how you screwed it up, it’s how you recover! We all screw stuff up daily! I cannot count the missteps on my latest projects. As far as glues and using proper materials, put the Gorilla Glue back in your hair where it belongs! ? I don't know what’s available on your side of the pond but it seems you’d be best with a thick CA glue. I put some onto a surface… like a paint can cap, and then dab it onto parts with a tooth pick. Then keep your CA far away from any clear parts. Get a white glue canopy cement for those. You can literally smear it all over the glass and clean up with water without harm.

Making Door & Hood Hinges
Tom Geiger replied to Fullauto-1966's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Most pickup kits come with working tailgates. It’s a very simple pivot as shown below.. I created a working tailgate on this Jeep body I made into a small trailer. I glued a piece of round Evergreen plastic to the bottom of the tailgate, overlapping on the sides. Then I held it up against the body and marked / drilled a small hole for each side. I have a pack of model ship eyelets.. a loop with a shaft off it.. like a lolly pop. You can also bend thin flexible wire into that same loop. I did that prior to finding the eyelets. Then I test fit by placing the loops over the Evergreen and pressed the loop shafts into the body. Once satisfied it worked as intended, I put it aside to paint and permanently glue in place. Just a little glue on the loop shafts will hold it, allowing the Evergreen Rod rotate in the loop. Zoom in on the above photos and you can see the eyelets are brass color against the white rod, which stands out against the blue body parts. And the finished product. I’d be happy to answer any questions. -

Stretched SSR
Tom Geiger replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Cool! I like the extended cab! Back when these were new my friend Bill got invited to a GM driving event and brought me along. They had SSRs you could drive around a defined course. We did it over and over! -

I got Gremlins at the Ollie’s near Trooper / Norristown back in November. I haven’t been back there since. -

Double check your Foose wheels and tires.. I discovered the hard way that there are different wheels / tires for front vs back. Evil thought- don’t you have a whole spare Foose chassis? ? -
That’s exactly what I do! Once the photo is on this site, I simply delete it from the photos kept on my phone.
