  1. I seriously wonder how that works when you actually need work done! Many years ago my car pool mate had a third party warranty like that.. when he needed his alternator replaced, he couldn’t find any shop that would work with it!
  2. Yea, eBay is still chasing Amazon’s tail to become a retailer, completely abandoning the small seller / collector base they were founded to serve. The buyers are more Walmart buyers who can and will return anything for any reason, and eBay encourages it.
  3. Modern cars are a mixed bag. They are engineered to go a lot longer without repairs than older cars. I remember when 100,000 miles was a lot, now 200,000 is normal. The interiors are more durable, the bodies don’t rust. But when they do break, they can be a bear to repair, but they don’t need repairs often. I’m amazed at the prices on some new cars, but the average person is now leasing and with residual values high, lease payments are low. Still, I’m a cash buyer so I will continue to buy good used cars.
  4. Notice that they’re making the new car in Mexico VS Michigan!
  5. Like George Burns used to say.. he’d get up every morning and check the obituaries. If his name wasn’t there, he’d have breakfast.
  6. The Story: McNally settled into his easy chair and found the Red Sox game on TV. He open his beer, took a satisfying swig and settled in for the game. He was happy to have some time off! ?
  7. Of course Steve could do it! It’s not like it needs to actually work! Great work!
  8. Oh yea! Love the pink on it. I’d keep the color and the tire / wheel combo but detail it all out with engine, interior and chassis upgrades!
  9. They probably bought it, stole the parts and returned it to the store. Some jerk!
  10. Great project! I’m following! Those old kits are a pain to cut up due to both the composition and thickness of the plastic. Good luck!?
  11. Reminds me of a story... since we've already veered into other animals... Back when I was young I worked for a large home developer. I picked up the owner at the airport and he wanted to stop at one of the developments on the way back. We're on the property and there is a box turtle walking across the road. Coming the other way was a dump truck, who aimed for the turtle and took him out. The company owner yelled at me to turn around and chase that truck. We caught him at the corner, he read the company name and plate number. Truck driver heard me honking at him and he gave us the finger and kept going. We got back to the office and he called the company and told them they were now banned. Not allowed back on any of his properties, not even as a sub. Guess that clown lost his job!
  12. They own the name and 80% of their intended audience is too young to remember the car anyway!
  13. Rip off company... windshield for my Hyundai $450 plus disposal and consumables (that's a blank check there!) Local company who came to my house... $250
  14. I had been weeding and spreading mulch. I finished up one of the front gardens last evening after it got cool. I wasn't going out there today! Nope!
  15. This is looking great! Makes me want to pull mine out to work on!
  16. I just came across this thread and thought I’d add this photo.. There is also a guy on Facebook who is upset I won’t tell him where I got the resin body.. refused to believe I created it! ?
  17. Keeping it box stock or updating it? Chassis wise the one under the Round Two 64 Plymouth / Dodge slides under old Johans like it came with it!
  18. Welcome back! Building models with your daughter will bring a whole new dimension to the hobby! I built with my eldest when she was 8-11 and she still thinks back of those times! She’s 36 now. And her models are prominently positioned in my display case! Go for it!
  19. That sucks! For this very reason, I now keep my trash can behind me. I got tired of dumping and sorting thru it for parts and such! It took a bit of getting used to, turning around in my swivel office chair to toss something or sand over the pail. Second nature now!
  20. I have an ancient spray can of Testors blue. I was trying to coax a bit of paint out of it to touch up a model with a brush. I picked up and shook the can, not noticing paint was oozing from the spray nozzle onto the top of the can... result? Paint across my hand, up my arm and onto my shirt! At least the shirt was a yard work shirt!
