  1. Wonderful and great job on some tricky decals. Also, excellent photography. What surface and background? did you use an SLR?
  2. Wal-Mart Colorplace was also my go-to. They used to sell grey primer, but I haven't seen it for quite a while. I have to say the black and white matte coats do well for primer, especially the matte white under gloss white for race cars and such. However, as mentioned these are getting harder to find, especially the matte. I wonder if they grey primer and matte coats are being discontinued for environmental reasons?
  3. I just thought there would have been an announcement by now, as Revell has the license from GM for Corvette, or at least they did for the C7. Maybe with all the changes at Revell the model is delayed. But I would think Corvette would be one of their most popular sellers for modern American cars, and the mid-engine C8 has generated a lot of excitement.
  4. I would think at least one of the companies would be doing a kit for the latest mid-engine corvette, but does anyone know for sure? I guess we'll get a look at the racing version this weekend at Daytona.
  5. Beautiful work and great lighting on the superb pictures as well!
  6. Wasn't sure seeing the beginning pictures and build, but it came out great!
  7. nice work, especially for 30 years old. What scale is that?
  8. Looks fine, "Done!" is often better than "perfect-so-far-but- not-yet completed." This will look good on your shelf.
  9. Looking great, one of my favorite Group B monsters!
  10. Great work. I looked at the instructions and it does look very complex. I am glad Tamiya is at least releasing kits of modern cars and Le Mans winners, instead of the endless reissues we are seeing from the American companies. As stated above, its not a beautiful car, but you did an excellent job!
  11. Always love to see your work, so creative! Great job on a very unique take on the AMG GT.!
  12. Wonderful job. Most of the examples I have seen of these Italeri kits have the wheels sticking out way too far. Nice work in correcting that and the stance.
  13. Yes! Procrastination pays off, again!! I have been in several bidding wars for this kit on ebay that I lost, to the point that I was about to contact Tamiya to ask if they would consider re-releasing the kit. I guess I was not the only one, and, as noted above, there is pretty strong demand on the secondary market. I will be ordering both Japanese Le Mans winners that Tamiya is releasing.
  14. Great job. Rode around a lot in one of these as a kid. A diesel that was constantly breaking down. Our Family Truckster!!
  15. Interesting, but I think we would agree that it is not quite up to a styrene kit yet. I have no doubt that as the technology and accuracy progresses, in 15-20 years we will be downloading kit plans and printing them in our own house.
  16. Nice work. How is the kit? Did it come in the castrol and Red-White-and Blue liveries as well?
  17. Very creative!! This looks like a box-stock build. Perfect color for late 1950s. Unique and excellent.
  18. First of all, beautiful job on the model. I too wondered about whether the luggage was included in the Tamiya kit, which everyone seems to think is one of their best ever. As far as the camera, 89AKurt is making a joke about Russian dash-camera videos, which typically capture a lot of accidents and dangerous driving, and are popular on YouTube.
  19. Finally!!! Glad to see these are now on the market. Great inventory stash there, I'd have emptied my wallet at that table!
  20. Pretty much the same ho-hum stuff. I was expecting a ton of new Revell merch, but our store was all the stuff posted above - nothing that interested me, even for $10. I can see these NASCAR kits going for $5 at a hobby show pretty soon. I wonder what is going to happen to all the Hobbico stuff - it must be sitting around somewhere,
  21. I think this came out very well, honestly very hard to see the discussed imperfections. The ride height is perfect. A finished model is a finished model.
  22. Alex, looks like old habits die hard. The Italian Horses website was one of the sites that not only got me hooked on modelling, but is still a go-to source for simple effective ideas. We are all thrilled to see you (and your obsessively detailed results) back !!
  23. wonderful work on the car that opened the floodgates for Porsche's dominance at Le Mans.
  24. Great job! You are the king of the 70s barges!
  25. Thanks so much for the info, Bill,, Dale and David. So if I am understanding this right, as the compressor gets hotter (ie. the longer it runs), the more likely it is to pass hot air which holds moisture to the airbrush? I wonder if giving the compressor a chance to cool off, say not going more than 15 min at a time, would help? I will add in a trap closer to the airbrush. Is there any point to having 2 traps, the one attached to the compressor as I have it set up, and another to the airbrush? or is that too much for the compressor to push air through?
