Nice job on a fun-looking kit!
-
I have this in the stash as well...the first LM winner for Porsche, the progenitor for a long line of LM winners, and established Porsche as a force in racing to this day. I have such respect for this car that I'm a little intimidated to start it. Any suggestions?

Great job this year, I followed a lot of your builds, because I too am obsessed with Le Mans cars, especial 24 hour of Le Mans winners. I am currently working on the Peugeot 905 at the bottom of your kit pile, and all I can say is, beware, and leave a lot of time for corrections!! Ni hao, and all the best for 2016

Great job The actual shade of blue for Gulf-liveried cars is an endless debate on the forums. Did you use 1 mm auto pinstriping tape, or cut it yourself? it looks like it make it around curves pretty well.
-
Agreed, the FINA livery is the best looking on the longtails- I only wish it could have won at Le Mans . I have this in the stash, looking forward to see what you do with it.

I see, and agree, that the fit of the panels is bad. With the lack of detail in the engine, I think that would be the way to go. Well said!!~~ Ha Ha.

Great idea Brian looks to be coming along well. Perhaps bring the rear edge of the front fender down to match what the rear fending is doing?
-
Great job Are there any other differences b/t this one and a stock one?

As an overall Le Mans winner, this kit is on my grail list, sorry to hear that its so disappointing. Heller has some up and down kits. I am currently working on their Peugeot 205 Rally Car, also only minimal detail. You have done a nice job with it, though, interesting display idea.

Has anyone seen this kit on the shelves in the USA yet?

Beautiful job, and a great tribute to your friend. Nice work!!

Revell 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham - Finished
tmathew1us replied to RandyB.'s topic in Model Cars
"Bullets"?? To me, they've always looked more like ... uh, you know. Lets just say you could paint them pink or brown. -
Came out great Did it come with a frisket for the windshield or did you cut that yourself. Looks very sharp

Great job on a cool car. I hope someday soon Tamiya re-releases the orange and green Renown Le Mans winner (too expensive on e-bay for now)

Great review, as usual Tim. I also wondered about the change from "Hemi" to "Hot Rod." We know that Revell has licensing for the Hemi name, but maybe has to pay each time? Perhaps this was done to widen the appeal to anti-Hemi folks? (as if there is anyone out there who doesn't love a Hemi ) This appears to be a great canvas for a nice boat/land vehicle set. I can't wait to see what you guys will do with it... ...

Revell visit to GTR club meeting with test samples
tmathew1us replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
(sigh) I have to agree with this quote, Wheel and tire size discrepancies seem to be a chronic issue at Revell, moreso with their kits of modern cars. I once wrote to them about considering increasing the size of the wheel and decreasing the size of the tire sidewall, and got a generic response that essentially amounted to "noted." Now that my complaint has been logged, I am super-excited for the Porsche 918!! IMHO it is far and away the best looking of the triumvirate of super-duper cars of today (McLaren P1 and La Ferrari). I can't wait to do one up in Gulf livery I am also hopeful that they will include both versions in one box, but if not, put me down for 2. Thanks so much for posting the pix, my appetite has been whetted. -
Excellent modelling skills, and beautiful photography!! You did an excellent job with the gullwing doors, which can be tricky on this model.
-
Wonderful creative job on these, I love looking at these "What if.." type of models. What brand of colors did you use on the Gulf-liveried models?
-
Very cool topic!! Do you have documentation that these are the original photo models? Might come in handy when proving provenance if you ever decide to sell them (I sound like a darn 1:1 car speculator writing something like that) Just out of curiosity, what was an average price for one of these cars? If you are not comfortable telling, that's okay too.

There are subtle differences between the '68 '69 and '70 Chargers, but I like these tail lights best. Nice job!
-
Great work on the body. I think the racing seat came out fine with the flocking, but the steering wheel texture is a little out of scale. Overall very nice model
-
Incredible!! Awesome detail!! (and great photography as well) Would you enlighten us as to how the louvers on the hood were done? Congrats on a well executed model.

I think your FINA-liveried version is the best-looking of the F1 GTRs. Will be watching, especially the decaling, good luck!

you are showing real improvement, great job!!
