  1. Between this and the T-bird, I gotta find a few side jobs; you're earning my money.
  2. ...been drooling since day one...
  3. That cab looks a little too "heavy" in the C-pillar area (IMHO) compared to all the nice swoopy, open shapes you are adding. Hows about cutting away some of that metal and grafting in a '59 El Camino wraparound back glass to visually lighten 'er up?! Just a thought that popped in my head at first glance, but I really dig this kind of build; VERY creative use of an old kit! Looking forward to more...
  4. Nice job! Challenging your skills is exactly what makes you better!
  5. That's looking great!
  6. Good work!
  7. I'm familiar with Golden acrylics, and have used them on canvas for some time; top-notch stuff, but yeah, top-notch prices! I had a similar problem a few years back as your door issue; it took a change of primer to nail it down. It seemed like there was a difference in densities of the styrene, as if it was not fully incorporated and had hard spots and soft spots. Krylon sandable primer, sanded smooth with 800 grit and followed with a coat of spray-can etching primer (I forget the brand) as a barrier coat, and the enamel paint (Testors red) laid down smoothly.
  8. Very neat build. I have a handful of 1/72 choppers in my stash, but haven't dove in yet. (UH-60 Blackhawk, Kamov KA-52, and a few others) Hoping I can reach your level of craftsmanship on those little devils!
  9. Very clean build! I really like oddball aircraft design, and this one still feels...current!
  10. Very nice model, and the color is top-notch! Cool understated vibe.
  11. What a clean build; just exemplary! The dash really sells it for me.
  12. Looks good in orange! Better open up that grille, though, before you overheat the engine!
  13. No real bad choices here, but DANG, that yellow looks good on that body!

Might check the "wanted" forum for bumpers if yours don't work out, as a lot of folks are building gassers these days, stock bumpers are rarely used and so should be an easy score.
  15. Love those '62s, and that gold is a handsome color that suits it very nicely. Can't wait to see the finished product!
  16. The front fender openings in that body are now positioned about right for some funky chrome header exits, maybe some megaphones...
  17. Some days...right? I was digging that third pic above, the stained plastic had a real "barn find" weathered appearance that you couldn't easily achieve if you actually wanted to!
  18. Good luck!
  19. Love a good scratch-build! Cool subject, too!
  20. All those colors are pretty nice, but that orange is RACY! I think it would look great with a simple creamy white top; when everything is "pearly", the pearl loses some of its impact. The contrast of the pearl flake against a solid color gives it more pop! Any way, it should look cool, since all your choices have a certain appeal. On another note, there's a good thread (on this site I think) about correcting this kit around the windshield/cowl area. There are some shape issues, but I can't recall the specifics; IIRC parts of the Revell '50 Olds were spliced in to get a more accurate appearance. That ring any bells with anyone?
  21. Yep, that's the 53 on the left, 54 on the right. Either way, you get cool parts for the spares box, or custom fodder! Any thoughts on color scheme yet? Really diggin' the build.
  22. That bumper came out really nice!
  23. Odd box art says 53, but shows the 54 grille installed!
