  1. Yeah, the topic of that body has been discussed in several threads here on the forum, but you can work it into shape! The plastic is fairly thick, and you can fix a lot just with judicious filing. I've got one underway, and a wide flat file has been my good friend. A round one helps with the body coves. The area around the back glass needs attention, especially at the top of the C-pillar. The radius of the back window corners is off; I think I had to add plastic in there and file to correct. Having a real body for reference will help you more than you can imagine!
  2. That SMH hood looks NICE! Thanks for posting that.
  3. Very clean build. Is this 1/48 scale?
  4. Being Rommel's Rod, 2 or 3 Gerry cans strapped together might make an appropriate fuel tank!
  5. Very neat work so far.
  6. What did you use to make the fade-away fender panels ? Is that cut from another kit?
  7. Very cool shade of green, really understated for a muscle car. Quite attractive!
  8. Oh yes! That front looks way better. This is one of Watson's better concepts IMHO, and your 3D realization of it shows the validity of the concept. More!!
  9. Nice job! I really like the restraint you show in your chassis over-spray; too often this is WAY overdone and unrealistic. If you've ever painted a real car, you have a better idea of just how much actually lands there, of course depending too on the kind of paint sprayed, the painter's technique, air pressure/fluid adjustment of the gun, etc. I think you captured a realistic "middle ground"!
  10. Beautiful cars, but the lines of the green car, as well as the color, just put it on top for me!
  11. The old Monogram Nomad still builds up well, as evidenced here. Like your color choice, too!
  12. Nicely done; a fun kit!
  13. Cool period piece, not over-done, just a groovy old rod!
  14. Great treatment of a fine kit. Very cool color.
  15. I absolutely love the silver w. red office color combo! Silver looks especially nice on the 59 body. I may have over looked it, what silver did you use?
  16. That works SO well under the Plymouth! I grabbed up a couple of these kits at a closeout store, mostly for those really nice 1/24 wheels, but you are right about the kit in general; there's a lot to like! You are doing a fine job with it, as well!
  17. That warbird thing got me to thinking about an idea I conjured up while working on a Monogram 69 440 SuperBee; while applying the decal across the quarters and trunk, I was reminded of WW2 invasion stripes on aircraft, and hatched a scheme for a street rod/racer based on that look. I envisioned a bright silver car, OD hood (non-glare), and black and white invasion stripes across the deck and quarters; sort of the "Old Crow" look. Could work here!
  18. Looks like there was some reshaping of the rear of the quarter glass/C-pillar as well, perhaps to give the top more angular lines to better match the body style.(?) A cool project!
  19. Oh yes! Stance is looking good, and those wheels are very attractive under that body. I think your blue will look nice, as well. It's a handsome body style that will favor a lot of colors. Gold with a white top could be sweet for a period piece, ( and less common ) with red/white/black lettering. My 2 pennies!
  20. C'mon, Creech's car should have fins!
  21. Love these cars in just about any color; even have a stalled project 59 in solid yellow, and a 60 in copper with white roof.
  22. What a great color for showing off chrome!
  23. I love seeing these old kits given a serious approach; they can impress, can't they?! Off to a nice start!
  24. Not crazy about the fuzzy stuff, but the piping work is SSSSSWWWEEEEEET.
  25. Yes! Were those a later add-on to the dampers? The location looks about right. Thanks for the clarification, and thanks Snake for your patience during this thread-jack! We now return to your WIP...
