Very cool rod, nicely crafted. Kudos on restrained use of chrome. A standout at any show!

That's a nice, show-car-flakey green, and it's on one of my favorite big Chevies! Do you recall exactly which craft paint you used?

Looking nice!

It's a tough choice, right? On one hand, you preserve the build as a piece of hobby history, but on the other, it's not YOUR history and has no personal connection, so what do you do? I would have no problem personally with modifying it, these things are not precious, BUT there is the easy availability of exactly the same parts to create what you want, so why bother?! You and Plowboy have got me appreciating just how actually pretty well proportioned the rest of the ol' gal really is. Make it into a top-down ragtop, and it could look quite spiffy with just a little work! Monogram apparently had a heck of a time with greenhouse proportions on their tri-fives. I'm slowly picking at a '56 as we speak...don't get me started... I will still wish for those Starbird custom pieces!

OK, this is driving me nuts: what did you use for the custom headrests? Those forms are familiar, but I can't pinpoint where I've seen them. As for the color combo on this one, I see great minds think alike; I painted this one for an uncle, and the true color is more intense than the photo, though not quite as strong as your model:

Nicely done! A very clean little rod with some excellent detail touches. Beautiful colors, too! Very well done.

You've made an absolute little jewel of this kit. Beautiful car, beautiful model, and a very informative build thread. Well done. -

Nice work! The paint and decal work alone make it outstanding. -
Nice clean build. Seeing a few of these starting to pop up here now, and really making me want one of my own! I especially like the warm white paint color you chose; very classy and appropriate look for a Jag. Well done!

That is beautiful. Perfect color as far as I'm concerned. It really looks authentic. I actually had my kit out just a few nights ago, sort of mulling over if I should build or maybe trade it off. This really makes me want to build it. That tiny 'bird looks like it might be good starter material for a 1/25 pedal car! Nicely done all around.

Very nice! You know, each individual model is quite nice on its own, but I am really drawn to how attractive the display of the group of three is. A case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts! This reminds me of an automotive museum display, the kind that leaves a real impression on you, and it's hard to pick a favorite! Well done, all, but I do find the subtle two-tone green to be especially and unexpectedly beautiful. Well done, and I hope the kids can one day appreciate what went into these.

Me and you both, and I'd wager, many others, too! Some good soul with 3-D printing chops could put together a package for just such a conversion. Your Plymouth version is built up just fine, however. That is a striking color, but not overwhelming. It really suits the lines of the Duster, and offers good contrast with the black stripes and accents. Sharp car! Now, whatcha hiding under that hood?!

Agreed with all above. You could not pass that up! That is a beautiful blue, and a little chrome foil or chrome pen detailing here and there will POP against that dark hue. Good score.

That's a mean looking rig, and judging from that grin, someone is proud of ol' dad's build! Good work. -
Glad you can use 'em! Which scoop are you using? Different folks have different ideas what a snorkel is! The long curvy one from the 'vette kit is what I would think of. As for the wheels, I have enough in my stash that neither set will be missed, and they're not my personal favorite, so good timing for your needs!

I would like to see them offer those decal sheets, maybe as sets of 2 sheets, up-scaled to 1/25 for those who like to kit bash or scratch build in the one true scale for cars. Actually, including such a sheet in each kit would be a sweet bonus, and bring the value more in line with price.

That's what I'm suspecting, as it sure appears shorter than stock in photos posted above. Hoping Anthony H. will measure his and post here.

Pictures ahoy! Nice work there. That would have been the height of cool way back when! -
Liking the strong yellow, a no-nonsense muscle car color!

Very interesting stuff! I don't think I've ever seen an original Monogram '55, and to be honest, I didn't know there ever was a "stock" version of a '55 from them! I would absolutely LOVE to see those custom parts all re-popped. They open up all kinds of possibilities with the Monogram '56s and '57s too, as well as ... If ever there was a way to re-ignite interest in these older, nostalgia kits, finding and restoring those long forgotten options would be a great start. That being said, the top is definitely short. A '55 hardtop has a windshield glass that is 18 inches in height in the center, measured along the surface of the glass. That's 3/4" in 1/24 scale. A generous measurement of the Badman version (quick and dirty) shows a full 1/16 under that, and actually is a bit more. That doesn't sound like much, but in 1/24 scale 1/16" is one and a half inches, a noticeable chop to most any eye. I feel safe in saying that by precise measurement, the Daniel design model has a 2-inch chop. I'm curious about the measurement on your original model, from before the top was permanently added. Judging by the vent window proportions, Monogram already had the windshield too short. Could you measure and share? Also' keep in mind when you alter yours to a sedan, the sedan windows, both windshield and back glass, are 1/2-inch taller than hardtops.

Very nice build of the iconic racer's ride. Fantastic details in that engine bay; highly realistic. Well done.

Clean little car. Nice save!
