  1. Candy Root Beer over gold base.
  2. Cool build! Like the color very much, and nice of you to show the comparison to stock.
  3. Nice work under the hood, and I have to agree with the others on that chop job! Sharp truck.
  4. That's a big boat! looks like a vacu-form kit?
  5. Agreed, there's no wrong choice. Handsome Coke-bottle shaped body looks good in just about color, any shade! First one is cool and calm, very stock appearance. Second says, "Hey, looky h'yea! A show car on the street." It's all about intent and personal taste.
  6. I know you have plans already, but that red car is just a big ol' piece of CANDY!
  7. Beautiful save! Can you share with us the paint/color you used, it's very nice.
  8. With all the interest in mock-ups here on the forum, I'm genuinely surprised we don't see more "kerbside" and slammers built up. Both were very popular in the late 90s and early 2000s, to the point that AMT was even producing slammer kits. Curbside is really grass-roots kit building, since early kits were pretty plain underneath anyway. It is a great way to flesh out an idea, paint work, stance, etc. for a possible later full detail build. (or not!) Really liking how this is shaping up, and will be following along. Shoe box Fords are just cool.
  9. It's good to roll with the punches sometimes! Hey, why not just start a new thread?
  10. NICE! Realistic metal finishes really stand out against that gorgeous red. Sanitary build, I'm especially loving the interior. The paint finish: wet look indeed! Well done.
  11. Very cool rod, nicely crafted. Kudos on restrained use of chrome. A standout at any show!
  12. That's a nice, show-car-flakey green, and it's on one of my favorite big Chevies! Do you recall exactly which craft paint you used?
  13. Tease.
  14. Shaping up!
  15. It's a tough choice, right? On one hand, you preserve the build as a piece of hobby history, but on the other, it's not YOUR history and has no personal connection, so what do you do? I would have no problem personally with modifying it, these things are not precious, BUT there is the easy availability of exactly the same parts to create what you want, so why bother?! You and Plowboy have got me appreciating just how actually pretty well proportioned the rest of the ol' gal really is. Make it into a top-down ragtop, and it could look quite spiffy with just a little work! Monogram apparently had a heck of a time with greenhouse proportions on their tri-fives. I'm slowly picking at a '56 as we speak...don't get me started... I will still wish for those Starbird custom pieces!
  16. OK, this is driving me nuts: what did you use for the custom headrests? Those forms are familiar, but I can't pinpoint where I've seen them. As for the color combo on this one, I see great minds think alike; I painted this one for an uncle, and the true color is more intense than the photo, though not quite as strong as your model:
  17. Nicely done! A very clean little rod with some excellent detail touches. Beautiful colors, too! Very well done.
  18. Very cool! These things are BEASTS, and are more outrageous than any Mad Max fictional ride! Thanks for the background (yep, never heard of 'em) and the nicely done model.
  19. You've made an absolute little jewel of this kit. Beautiful car, beautiful model, and a very informative build thread. Well done.
  20. Nice work! The paint and decal work alone make it outstanding.
  21. Nice clean build. Seeing a few of these starting to pop up here now, and really making me want one of my own! I especially like the warm white paint color you chose; very classy and appropriate look for a Jag. Well done!
  22. That is beautiful. Perfect color as far as I'm concerned. It really looks authentic. I actually had my kit out just a few nights ago, sort of mulling over if I should build or maybe trade it off. This really makes me want to build it. That tiny 'bird looks like it might be good starter material for a 1/25 pedal car! Nicely done all around.
  23. Very nice! You know, each individual model is quite nice on its own, but I am really drawn to how attractive the display of the group of three is. A case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts! This reminds me of an automotive museum display, the kind that leaves a real impression on you, and it's hard to pick a favorite! Well done, all, but I do find the subtle two-tone green to be especially and unexpectedly beautiful. Well done, and I hope the kids can one day appreciate what went into these.
  24. Me and you both, and I'd wager, many others, too! Some good soul with 3-D printing chops could put together a package for just such a conversion. Your Plymouth version is built up just fine, however. That is a striking color, but not overwhelming. It really suits the lines of the Duster, and offers good contrast with the black stripes and accents. Sharp car! Now, whatcha hiding under that hood?!
