  1. NICE! Paint is period-perfect, and really suits the body. Well done.
  2. Ha! That is just right for the genre. You captured the Zinger flavor, but did it better! What a great way to take a break from a serious build to remember how much fun you can have modeling. Well done.
  3. Interesting...
  4. Very nice start! These kits respond well to added detail, and you are nailing the detail work.
  5. Now that's a fun build! Great use of parts, and the simple color scheme is SHARP. May I ask what paint you used for the gold color?
  6. Really impressive appearance; a real muscle car! Well done.
  7. Wow! She's a beauty!
  8. Very cool! I love how removing the wonky side trim just breathes fresh air into this kit.
  9. Instead of making all those grille pieces, why not just make continuous length pieces that are the width and contour of the grille, then mark the location of the vertical pieces on the backside of these. Mark the location of the horizontal elements on the vertical. Take a hobby saw that cuts a kerf the sane thickness as your plastic, and saw half way into the pieces; on the front of the vertical, and the back of the horizontal. Essentially, making half-lap joints that lock everything together. Just a thought...
  10. This has been a really fun and informative build. Echoing others, we really need a reissue of this body, this has one of my favorite tail light/ rear-end views of any car ever. Your color choice is very stylish, and the details are, as always, splendid. Been thinking about doing an under-dash 8-track for a project on the bench, going to try to mimic a factory unit. Yours has that nice after-market vibe; I'm thing Craig, or Realistic (Radio Shack), in which case probably would have a silver face with black accents, maybe even wood grain! A thought on 8-track labels; why bother with decals? Just print on cheap paper and seal down with white glue; remember how quickly the labels would wrinkle and deteriorate in the car? Fun memories. Keep up the great work!
  11. That really does look appealing. Should finish a real beauty!
  12. Very clean custom, and nice color choices. Well done!
  13. Very nice, and impressive work, considering the scale!
  14. Dig it! We don't see enough of these built well, and not as race cars. Well done!
  15. Very nice work, and thanks for putting this thread together with new photos and such. It's new to me, I missed it first time around, I guess.
  16. Man, she's just SO pretty! I think I agree with your hunch about the gas pedal looking a bit big. What if you gave it the same treatment you did the other pedals, and flat-blacked the center, leaving the raised chrome outline? Big ol' spot of chrome is distracting in that black floor; just my 2 pennies. Absolutely love this style of hot rod and model alike. You're NAILING it!
  17. Nice progress!
  18. Oh man, I really want a '64 or '65 Buick Skylark model. SUCH a handsome car! I hope you do one...
  19. Clever use of materials, and looks the part! Fun project, but those figures are CREEPING me out! Well done.
  20. Nice pair of 'birds! That blue is just beautiful! White with a red interior is always nice. There was an article some years back on exactly how to backdate a '56 to a '55 that went into all the details. If memory serves, it was written by Bill Geary, who posts here as Mr Obsessive. Apologies to the author if I'm wrong on that. Any way, well done on these beauties!
  21. Nice combo! Very nice work on the boat engine details. Well done.
  22. Nice job, and a very tasteful color combo. Love that interior! Well done.
  23. Thanks for the info, guys, I'll keep an eye out.
  24. Love this one. I had a single shelf dedicated to the Aurora movie monsters and pre-historic figures when I was about 10 or 11. This one and the Creature from The Black Lagoon were my absolute favorites. You did a fine job painting this one. Well done.
