  1. First, let me say that is a beautiful model. I especially love the color scheme; VERY nice. Second, I never knew Citroen made such an attractive car! Well done.
  2. Simple and effective. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Great choice of color, that really is a perfect blue for the '63. I'm partial to these cars as my first car was a '63 Biscayne with a zillion miles on the 283, and it still ran like a sewing machine! Mine never looked this nice. I've got an AMT '62 chassis put aside for my next '63 build. Well done!
  4. Cool to see some progress on this!
  5. There was a really detailed article not too long after these kits came out as I remember, that had tons of building tips and heads-up on proper location of parts. It was heavily illustrated, with pen and ink drawings as well as photos. There were even good scratch-building suggestions for extra, more proper detailing. I believe it was a father and son team and they built two different Polar Lights funny car kits. I can't remember for sure which magazine it was in, it was either Model Cars Magazine or Scale Auto, but it was awhile ago. Maybe Tim Boyd or one of the other gurus can chime in. Ring any bells, anyone?
  6. Nope; that's the one. I was just thinking maybe not the best choice for the OP if the '68 Chevelle discouraged you... Best of luck, and do be patient with it. There have been some beauties made of that kit.
  7. Everything's different for California, I learnt that on the TV!
  8. Funky little cars! Seriously, well done.
  9. Good choice all around on wheels. That Impala looks snazzy wearing those!
  10. I had recently purchased some Iron Armor primer at Harbor Freight just because the price was so appealing for a sandable filler primer. I just got around to doing a quick test, because I'm as curious as anyone if it's worth trying! A few points: First; it does have a VERY fine graininess, but nothing unusual for a primer with higher solids content for filling. You have to feel it, you can't see it, even in a WET coat. Second; it sprays with a good pattern, and covers very well. Third; I was unable to make it craze a model car body or even one of those cheap plastic Wal-Mart spoons, and in my experience, plastic spoons craze easily. (I sprayed 2 heavy wet coats on each, no holding back for testing purposes) Fourth; I like the smell! Seriously, it reminds me of the smell of Kylon Sandable from 10 years ago, a primer I really liked for modeling. BONUS points; the model pictured is an old glue bomb Monogram 66 Chevelle street machine I will be restoring, molded in RED, and it ain't bleeding through! Sprayed day before yesterday. The primer is a very light gray color, the handle of the (white) spoon was not sprayed at all.
  11. Good job! That blue looks cool on SO many cars. Had an uncle who painted his 67 Impala that color. Tasty!
  12. Yes! Great modern custom with a nod to the past. Let's see some more pictures! I think I see some teeth in that grille, so front view please!
  13. I was really digging the Merc, and then I scrolled down to the Satellite...best job Ive seen on one of those, the color, wheels, and stance just speak to the kid in me! All these are VERY nice builds, but it's Satellite for the win!
  14. That's a pretty maroon, what paint did you use?
  15. Wow! That is some serious old-school flake, and I dig it! Mind sharing what paint you used?
  16. The 5-spokes are nice looking on that car, but a little smaller wouldn't hurt it!
  17. I dig the bubble top, but it looks a bit oversized to me( just my HO ) I think it would benefit from removing about 1/8 inch all the way around the bottom; would not only bring it down, but would shorten it a few millimeters. However you go, I'll be watching with much interest! This is just a cool concept!
  18. Love the color on that '68, have you decided on a color for the '69?
  19. Very cool little hot rod! Well done!
  20. I like your color scheme just fine, and I think you'll appreciate it more when you see it with the chrome done (foiled or painted). Looking good!
  21. Man, that was a great color choice; your 'vette is sharp!
  22. Skip, that engine conversion would have made a nice WIP here!
  23. That turned out really nice. Love the white interior, it complements the rich green.
