  1. Beautiful! Paint really laid down nicely, but looks more red than orange on my monitor! Great job!
  2. Get on it!
  3. Looks great! Wood is nicely done; very realistic model.
  4. There is a stock version of the '57 snapper available.
  5. A very tastefully conceived and stylish little rod! That color combo would look good on just about any car. Well done!
  6. Another vote for white, it just looks right with that aqua color.
  7. You may have the lowrider version, which contains a 396. The bone stock convertible has the 409. Here's a sprue shot and some cool informative reading:
  8. A lot of folks were surprised at R/M's choice to put the 409 in the kit because it was so unusual. Many (including me) would have been happier with an equally detailed 327 for a change. Heck, not EVERY car needs to be a big block!
  9. The convertible version of Revell's '65 Impala had the 409 in it. Last year for the 409 in a passenger car, and fairly rare in '65.
  10. Ambitious project, should be fun!
  11. This is going to look SO nice!
  12. A little (or lot!) patience and tenacity paid off, it looks great!!
  13. Try freezing it; give the joint a dip in water, put it in a zip-lock and toss it in the freezer over night, and it may separate easily. Trick works sometimes, sometimes not, depends really on just how well it's glued.
  14. Exactly my reason for using primer, I enjoy modifying and custom work, so a variety of fillers and their unique properties necessitate something to provide a uniform surface for the topcoats. It's all about intent and purpose.
  15. First, let me say that is a beautiful model. I especially love the color scheme; VERY nice. Second, I never knew Citroen made such an attractive car! Well done.
  16. Simple and effective. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Great choice of color, that really is a perfect blue for the '63. I'm partial to these cars as my first car was a '63 Biscayne with a zillion miles on the 283, and it still ran like a sewing machine! Mine never looked this nice. I've got an AMT '62 chassis put aside for my next '63 build. Well done!
  18. Cool to see some progress on this!
  19. There was a really detailed article not too long after these kits came out as I remember, that had tons of building tips and heads-up on proper location of parts. It was heavily illustrated, with pen and ink drawings as well as photos. There were even good scratch-building suggestions for extra, more proper detailing. I believe it was a father and son team and they built two different Polar Lights funny car kits. I can't remember for sure which magazine it was in, it was either Model Cars Magazine or Scale Auto, but it was awhile ago. Maybe Tim Boyd or one of the other gurus can chime in. Ring any bells, anyone?
  20. Nope; that's the one. I was just thinking maybe not the best choice for the OP if the '68 Chevelle discouraged you... Best of luck, and do be patient with it. There have been some beauties made of that kit.
  21. Everything's different for California, I learnt that on the TV!
