  1. A real beauty! Love the purple. Nicely done.
  2. Great job! Thank you so much for the build video, it was extremely informative. I like your very clean style of building.
  3. Looking good! After commenting on the color, I looked up some photos of the car on the web, and found that the model is much closer in color than I had in mind. Gulf used a color called "powder blue", and in the old pics, it looked very similar! I had in my head a stronger color, closer to "Grabber Blue", but that would be completely wrong. Don't know where I got the notion! Any way, the model is building up beautifully, and I can't help but wonder, too, if there had been a plan for either an opening/hinging option, or possibly a clear body version? Looking forward to the finish!
  4. Another good read on your review! Matchbox really did have a knack for kitting some underdogs, didn't they? I love it. I'm still fairly impressed at their approach to kits; they seem to focus on the big picture; is the overall shape and proportions RIGHT, does the finished build look like what it mimics? They were good at getting the look right, just short on detail. The exaggerated panel lines are easy enough to fill in, so no problem there for a serious modeler. Funny, but people that gripe about those panel lines now ooh and aahh over recent Airfix and Revell of Germany kits that have absolute trenches for panel lines. Sure, they are crisply cut and molded, but no less grossly over-scaled for 1/72. Looking forward to your next Matchbox dissection!
  5. Paint it red! You know you want to...? Red with a matte charcoal gray insert on hood and rear taillight panel, as well as charcoal interior. Go on now...
  6. Hard to beat a red mustang rag-top! Well done, and nice collection.
  7. Some cool jalopies here; love 'em!
  8. Looking GOOD!
  9. Looks wicked, like it was caught mid-launch! These are such a great looking body style. I've got one I want to put a chassis from the AMT '60 underneath, it deserves the full detail treatment! Nevertheless, they do make NICE looking models right out of the box. Have you decided for sure what your non-conventional color will be?
  10. Maybe more appropriate for "kit reviews"?!
  11. Love it! Very nice save. That's a nice shade of green, it really makes the chrome pop. Well done!
  12. Sharp custom. +1 on the color choice!
  13. That turned out superb! Beautiful car, sweet model. Well done.
  14. Really nice! Very well thought out and planned. Lots of nice model cars here, too. Beautiful work all around.
  15. Just needs a mud turtle on the seat to finish the look. Nicely presented!
  16. Very cool. That white, black, and red paint scheme looks all business, doesn't it?! Well done.
  17. Nice, and in 1/43 scale no less! I've been curious about these little Heller kits, and this is nudging me towards buying a couple or three. Well done!
  18. Loved these little cars! Very nicely done model, the red is particularly attractive. I have both versions of this kit in the stash (stock and WRC racer), and hope I can get one to look this realistic! Well done.
  19. Very nice build, it really does capture the spirit of the time, and looks totally believable to me! You have a clean building style, and this thing looks ready-for-race-day real. Well done.
  20. If you pass near Elizabethtown, search out the Hobby Station; a big part of my stash came from there when I got back into the hobby some years back. Lots to see, and if you are a model train nut, you won't want to leave! The owner is big into trains, but has always carried a nice inventory of model kits. I used to make a weekly pilgrimage there. Very well stocked actual hobby store, check 'em out on Facebook for directions. (Easy to find) Enjoy!
  21. That looks gorgeous! Very nice, clean build. Congrats!
  22. What a beauty! Very well done.
