    Batmobile(s)

Cool models! Love the side by side of the '66 'mobile and the Futura; shows just how little "customizing" Barris did. Imagine a Futura painted black with the red stripes and no other modifications - you got 95% Batmobile.
  2. Very nice job, looks like a proper street machine!
  3. Nice pair! Liking the gold interior on the 'stang.
  4. More of an unassembled promo style. But yeah, I dig the combo!
  5. Nice! Really like your color choice of color, it looks period perfect for the big Poncho!
  6. Love 'em! I especially like the gold-ish colored one, but this handsome body style can look good in so many colors... You did them both very well. I have been looking forever and a day on ebay for a re-builder of one of these I can afford, and they just go nuts at the last minute every time. The search continues...
  7. Very nice! What do you think that is, '59-'60 sedan roof? Reminds me of my old '59 Biscayne's roof line.
  8. In spite of the flash, the detailing of the castings is pretty impressive. The interior is especially nice, with the seats and upholstery having a believable variety of textures. ( Revell's newer kits fall down a bit in that respect, having very "flat" engravings for seat detail, '66 Impala was disappointing in that respect ) The chassis of this kit looks VERY promising, and I know you will do this one much justice. Looking forward to the build!
  9. Fun project! I like that you're removing the under-hood molded in details to correct them; it's one of the shortcomings of Monogram's 1/24 kits. Tailpipes molded to rear axle is another compromise. The exhaust can paint nicely and look decent, but the other problem is the pipes are way under-sized, looking like 1-1/2 inch tubing! Will be following this one...
  10. A real beauty! Love the purple. Nicely done.
  11. Great job! Thank you so much for the build video, it was extremely informative. I like your very clean style of building.
  12. Looking good! After commenting on the color, I looked up some photos of the car on the web, and found that the model is much closer in color than I had in mind. Gulf used a color called "powder blue", and in the old pics, it looked very similar! I had in my head a stronger color, closer to "Grabber Blue", but that would be completely wrong. Don't know where I got the notion! Any way, the model is building up beautifully, and I can't help but wonder, too, if there had been a plan for either an opening/hinging option, or possibly a clear body version? Looking forward to the finish!
  13. Another good read on your review! Matchbox really did have a knack for kitting some underdogs, didn't they? I love it. I'm still fairly impressed at their approach to kits; they seem to focus on the big picture; is the overall shape and proportions RIGHT, does the finished build look like what it mimics? They were good at getting the look right, just short on detail. The exaggerated panel lines are easy enough to fill in, so no problem there for a serious modeler. Funny, but people that gripe about those panel lines now ooh and aahh over recent Airfix and Revell of Germany kits that have absolute trenches for panel lines. Sure, they are crisply cut and molded, but no less grossly over-scaled for 1/72. Looking forward to your next Matchbox dissection!
  14. Paint it red! You know you want to...? Red with a matte charcoal gray insert on hood and rear taillight panel, as well as charcoal interior. Go on now...
  15. Hard to beat a red mustang rag-top! Well done, and nice collection.
  16. Some cool jalopies here; love 'em!
  17. Looking GOOD!
  18. Looks wicked, like it was caught mid-launch! These are such a great looking body style. I've got one I want to put a chassis from the AMT '60 underneath, it deserves the full detail treatment! Nevertheless, they do make NICE looking models right out of the box. Have you decided for sure what your non-conventional color will be?
  19. Maybe more appropriate for "kit reviews"?!
  20. Love it! Very nice save. That's a nice shade of green, it really makes the chrome pop. Well done!
  21. Sharp custom. +1 on the color choice!
  22. That turned out superb! Beautiful car, sweet model. Well done.
