  1. Very nice work here.
  2. Very cool, and agree that this is more of a standout color scheme. Reminded me of several cars associated with Larry Watson and that period and place.
  3. Don't fear the foil! Really, it does get easier with practice. Safe to say most people are less than enthused about their first try. Hang in there! Pretty nice Camaro for a "noob", your client should be pleased. Color-keyed mags are an interesting touch; they give the car, at a glance, the appearance of the 70-73 Camaro with it's colored steel factory "mag". Is this model replicating a car someone has actually done, or is it a plan for a real build?
  4. Oh yes, I notice we're seeing more and more of this flavor here lately, and I dig it! Well done.
  5. Should look great as a convertible with up-top! Big fan of the '69s myself, and have a conversion (slowly) in the works, making a Sport Coupe. Is your promo by AMT or MPC? One of them molded the "CHEVROLET" letters on the front of the hood (like yours) and one didn't (mine). Are you planning on polishing the plastic to keep the promo vibe, or do we have a tasty paint job to look forward to?
  6. Fun stuff! I like your taste in '57s; isn't that bluish silver PERFECT on that mild custom?! Tube grilles work well in these front ends, and I've always thought the Buick grille (included in the other boxings) is a handsome addition and just the sort of thing any DIY customizer would have done way back. As for lowering, don't make the same mistake the guy with the black car pictured above did; see how his rear bumper is twisted upward?! Riding too low, turn from level ground onto an uphill slope, and... These mild customs remind me of one of my favorite magazine builds from back in the 80s, the Hot Rod Magazine Flashback 57. Painted orange with a black belly and an orange frame, dressed up with plenty of chrome and polished aluminum, and they did the same exact modification to the hood "bullets" as you guys did here. It was too cool, and they gave it away! Looking forward to seeing what you make of this. It's off to a good start!
  7. Not sure what displacement it represents, but the six in the AMT '37 Chevy has a dual carb manifold and other goodies you might adapt and save some scratch-building. See nice pics of kit pieces and instruction sheet in this thread, scroll down about 2/3 of the page:
  8. Love the natural metal on the Empire bird. Well done!
  9. Looks like a great color choice; used to see lots of these old trucks in blue and white like that.
  10. ...and you posted in "Model Cars - WIP", so I guess we'll be seeing you soon in "Pickups, Vans, and SUVs - WIP" Too bad about that pedestrian carrying his new bumper into traffic, at least the new grille wasn't damaged in the accident!?
  11. He also asked about craft paint, which would require spraying through an airbrush.
  12. Good luck. I asked about a 223-6 for a '59 Ford (Edsel) project a while back, and got no response. Not much out there for older inlines, I'm afraid. The oldest recently available is in the Moebius '66 Ford pickup, but I think it's the wrong one.
  13. Clean custom!
  14. Fun stuff! Love the red you used on this. May I ask what paint that is?
  15. I think I would start with that Tamiya color, and tint it with a few drops of blue/green til I had what I wanted. Worth experimenting.
  16. Love those alternate and experimental B-17s, heck, love 'em all! Somewhere on the interwebs I saw a photo of one decked out with the engines and nacelles from a P-38 (x2).
  17. We're everywhere. May I ask what forum that is?
  18. Ha! I gotta get one, now.? Looks pretty cool stock, I have to admit..
  19. Welcome! You'll find lots of answers here. As a new modeler, you'll find a lot of your questions have already been asked and answered; in fact some questions are so common that the thread with the solution(s) have been made "stickies", they are permanently stuck at the top of the listings under every forum topic. You really ought to read through a few to get started. Enjoy!
  20. Oh that red car is screaming to be hot-rodded, American style!
