  1. Sometimes, it seems all forums are...
  2. Oh wow, I blew that! I would never thought they (R/M) would have packaged a threesome with one kit in the odd scale to the other two. Goes to show what they say about assuming... Sorry Youpey, seems all the confusion was in my head (a terrible place to store things). Thanks, Snake for the clarification, as well. A friend of mine used to say, "You know, a guy could write a pretty good size book about all the stuff I don't know anything about..." Sometimes, I know just how he felt!
  3. No, not at all. My confusion here is in the contradiction of your first posts: first says you are building the monogram kit, second says you are building Revell kit from the 3-kit box. My take-away was that you thought they were one and the same kit.
  4. Beautiful collection of well built models. Love that snazzy black and gold Comet!
  5. OK, but neither of those is Monogram...
  6. No shortage of B-17 decals available. Search on ebay and your eyes will fatigue from the list! Don't be afraid to try a metal finish, though. Get yourself a decent airbrush if you don't already have one, and you have multiple choices for nice paint finishes. I would recommend the Alclad line without hesitation; lots of metal finishes to choose from.
  7. Just noticed your original post stated a Monogram kit with no wipers, but later you show Revell kits with no wipers. I hope my post didn't add to confusion, was meant to clarify!
  8. Different kits. Your Revell kits are from the days before Revell purchased Monogram. The Revells are 1/25, the old Monogram is 1/24, and Snake45 is right on about it being one of Monogram's best. I believe it has the nicest 1/24 big block Chevy engine ever. The tinted window issue is just coincidence.
  9. Curious, are you going to put a satin clear over this? It looks very flat in the photos, and the Germans used a type of paint that actually had a noticeable "sheen", which is clearly visible in old photos taken in full sun. I remember looking at a restoration of a Bf 109 at Wright-Patterson a few years back and thinking they had painted it too shiny, until I read up on the subject and had my mind changed. Our aircraft paint was much flatter in appearance and aged even more so more quickly. The 262s weren't around long enough for the finish to age much!
  10. Very cool! Really does capture the 70s street car spirit. Well done.
  11. Beautiful!
  12. Coming along very nicely; loving the color scheme.
  13. Yeah, dry fit the chassis to check that you clear the rear lower valance, that panel curves under quite a bit, approaching the rear of the springs.
  14. Still in that area, but has moved across the road from the strip mall you remember. Just check his facebook page for nice directions.
  15. I've had good luck with Evergreen brand H-O scale 2x4s: #8204 - .022" X .043" / .6mm X 1.1mm The little bit of extra thickness gives you something to shape if you don't need flat, sharp edges.
  16. Wow, that looks so right! The roadster that should have been... It really makes a great looking convertible; nice job and great idea!

    Batmobile(s)

Cool models! Love the side by side of the '66 'mobile and the Futura; shows just how little "customizing" Barris did. Imagine a Futura painted black with the red stripes and no other modifications - you got 95% Batmobile.
  18. Very nice job, looks like a proper street machine!
  19. Nice pair! Liking the gold interior on the 'stang.
  20. More of an unassembled promo style. But yeah, I dig the combo!
  21. Nice! Really like your color choice of color, it looks period perfect for the big Poncho!
  22. Love 'em! I especially like the gold-ish colored one, but this handsome body style can look good in so many colors... You did them both very well. I have been looking forever and a day on ebay for a re-builder of one of these I can afford, and they just go nuts at the last minute every time. The search continues...
  23. Very nice! What do you think that is, '59-'60 sedan roof? Reminds me of my old '59 Biscayne's roof line.
  24. In spite of the flash, the detailing of the castings is pretty impressive. The interior is especially nice, with the seats and upholstery having a believable variety of textures. ( Revell's newer kits fall down a bit in that respect, having very "flat" engravings for seat detail, '66 Impala was disappointing in that respect ) The chassis of this kit looks VERY promising, and I know you will do this one much justice. Looking forward to the build!
  25. Fun project! I like that you're removing the under-hood molded in details to correct them; it's one of the shortcomings of Monogram's 1/24 kits. Tailpipes molded to rear axle is another compromise. The exhaust can paint nicely and look decent, but the other problem is the pipes are way under-sized, looking like 1-1/2 inch tubing! Will be following this one...
