First "snowed-in" movie that comes to my mind, apart from obviously The Shining and Fargo, is definitely Misery Then The Thing, if you're into a bit of sci-fi, or A Simple Plan, which is not strictly a "snowed-in" movie but definitely is very snowy - kinda like Fargo More recently, there was Tarantino's Hateful Eight... Not my favorite movie ever, but definitely quite a "snowed-in" mood to it... As for a comedy... I say Groundhog Day.

Divided by a common tongue
PowerPlant replied to DonW's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There are many examples, but "truck" and "lorry" are obvious ones I reckon -
I like it, Kerry, perfect match! Some nice NASCAR wheels might suit this build, don't you think? Looking forward to progress

This is likely the nicest build of this kit I've ever seen... Great photos too, most make the model look real! -
404 error when trying to reply

Thanks for the replies, a shutdown and re-start seem to have fixed the problem. As far as I am concerned, this topic may be moved/deleted. -

So, it seems I can reply here, but not to PM's or in my own topic in the trading section... This is frustrating. Anyone know why this is happening??? -

Same here, and that really was a major disappointment, after all the premature announcements and subsequent delays... So I didn't really get my hopes up about the DB5 this time around, but boy was that short-lived Revell really should reconsider their new models announcement strategy, this is just silly...

Scale model of the Week

Do you still have the hood perhaps? I have one of these kits unbuilt, but the hood is severely warped unfortunately, and I've not had luck finding a replacement -
Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
PowerPlant replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I've been following this thread, and all I can say is it's a bummer this has happened with such nice new kits... Fortunately, I already bought the 29 roadster a while back, and now I'm hoping I'll be able to source at least one 30 coupe, which I like even better... Would be a shame if these were discontinued just like that, after such a short time on the shelves :/ -
Revell Germany do not send replacement parts outside Europe, just like Revell USA don't send parts outside North America... Just sayin'

I just finished watching the first episode, and it was great to see Clarkson, Hammond and May back together doing their thing... In terms of production value and content, the show is, obviously, very similar to Top Gear, but it is also clear that they are still figuring things out and definitely trying to push the envelope a bit with the whole "global tour" concept... There is no "designated racing driver" like the Stig, at least not yet (the two test drivers in this episode are Mike Skinner and Jerome d'Ambrosio), while the "Star in a reasonably priced car" segment was omitted from the first episode for some reason, but three apparent future guests are introduced in a rather interesting manner There was no "challenge" of any sort in this episode either, but a sneak preview at the beginning indicated there certainly will be in the episodes to come... The cars tested were the Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and LaFerrari, as well as the BMW M2. All in all, this looks like it will provide adequate TV entertainment for the winter, and I'd say BBC have definitely shot themselves in the foot by letting the above mentioned three hosts go (despite the circumstances), and that Top Gear as such will soon become a second tier show. Any thoughts, opinions?

This is possibly the best build of this kit I've seen, even if I would have preferred it in red Also one of the best looking Ferraris ever! Shame Revell had licensing disagreements with Ferrari over reissuing it last year... I'm still hoping it will eventually happen, but not really holding my breath...

That is one tasty looking Dart indeed

Nice Caddy! I'm not strictly a fan of the wheels, but the newspaper headline is hilarious

1941 Plymouth Coupe: WIP (Photos Restored)
PowerPlant replied to David G.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
Sweet color... I have something similar in mind for mine As for the wheels... Indeed, the "custom" option on this kit is quite unappealing as far as I'm concerned. The stock wheels suit the car much better, and yours look great. Have you tried using Alclad "klear kote"? Not foolproof, but it helps a bit with handling Also, I am curious, which ride height did you opt for, stock or custom? -
That suburban is such an unusual subject... But certainly a breath of fresh air What I am most curious about, however, are the wheels on that Ford pickup... The 1:1 are Foose Design Nitrous, if I remember correctly, and I would not mind having a nice set of these!

It looks great to my eye! Nice idea to make grooves for the wire. -

I used a scrap piece of red sprue, heated over a candle and then stretched out to a required thickness. -
