  1. I have a built of that AMT 1/43 kit I built Way back then and 2 Unbuilt of it too!! I built the Testor's "Fabulous Fords" boxed of the coupe also when New. Hope to some day finish the resto-conversion and make to Police car similar to Revell's new kit (Though finding the period correct San Diego PD decals!!!) I have a Flat box of the coupe And a Convertible to build too And I have the Revell/Momgram Woody Use to have the Pro-Modeler Convertible.
  2. Wonder why they did not offer both closed headlight & open light grills as that car(s) has been seen both ways in the different movies. or might that be in the Stock kit coming next year??
  3. At least LeMans optioned Tempest wagons were also called "Safari" in 66 & 67 I have a copy of 'The Complete Catalog of American Automobiles 46-75' and the Safari name plate is used there for those Also, at least for a time after 57, Safari was the name for ALL Pontiac Wagons I found out will have to do the 66 & 67 models like shown in the built above, just adding the GTO front clip to the AMT 65 or Revell 66 Chevelle wagon body, as they had a Shorter wheelbase than all other Tempest/LeMans cars 66 Wagons had 203.6 inch wheelbase vs 206.4 on Hardtops & convertibles While 67 Wagons had a 203.4 inch wheelbase 2 Tenths shorter than the previous year Hardtops & convertibles grew by the same 2 tenth's to 206.6 And yes the MPC 67 GTO kit has a longer wheelbase than the Revell 66 Chevelle wagon kit body!!!! With that method though the fun part will be adding the MPC 67 or Revell/Monogram 66 GTO emblems to the builds!! Foil casting will be the method, But getting them in the correct location may be difficult I would also like to add Safari Specific trim pieces to these builds But, finding them will be the MOST Fun part!!!!! Carman1, is your avatar thumb the wagon you have?? Nice But, Not sure I can do that one yet only 68/69 I have access to is the Old Monogram 1/24. NOT sure I want to try merging scales yet (unless you know where I can get a couple OLD MPC 1/25 bodies Cheap or Better FREE!!!!!!!)
  4. I wonder, (and Worry) what will happen to our hobby when China decides to do to Round2, Revell/Monogram, & Moebius what they did to Danbury Mint!!!!! I an surprised that they did not order ALL tooling sent back home then!!! (or did they not understand what happened??)
  5. Yea Like that But............... Actual cars not scale. Plus, not sure if it is MY connection or not But your pic's are Pixelized badly Are they Small and being enlarged to fit?? or Old pic's?? AND, You did the bash differently than I plan to I guess I should have posted the pic's of my 65 In Progress I kept the doors and rear quarters of the GTO, and added the roof & Tailgate of the 65 Malibu wagon Notice the tan/brown body vs gray roof & Tailgate The white wedge is where I corrected the rear quarters to match Wagon quartes and line up with the read side windows ALSO, I used the PONTIAC lettered insert from the GTO kit rather than keep the CHEVROLET insert. I also raised it up to more closely match the Pontiac piece On the 64, it should line up almost even with the top of the tail lights! NOW, BIG Question, Can I use the P-L 64?? or do I need an AMT annual body, interior, etc??????? I have a P-L body scribed for the 4 doors, but............. Also, where do I find the hash marks on the front fender Rocker area?? I can use either the AMT 65 Malibu roof & interior cargo section or the Revell 66 Chevelle Wagon roof & cargo section BUT prefer to keep the Pontiac rear quarters Tail lights for the 66 & 67 appear CLOSE to the 66 Chevy pieces, BUT......................... I do NOT see separation lines in them. AND they appear All RED! here are the back Up lights??????? I will be adding pic's I can find (and am given) to the research folder in my Photobucket) Hope to get some Good pictures. Preferably of Actual cars so they are more accurate OK, made a folder and added pic's in the Research folder. These are the types of pic's I need BUT, I need Good REAR shots, besides straight on side shots ALSO 66 & 67 Te,pest/LeMans Safari Wagons have Small Round back up lights in the Rear Bumper!!!! http://s145.photobucket.com/user/EdselDan/library/research/Tempest-LeMans-GTO Wagons?sort=3&page=1
  6. Hi all, I want to get back to a project series I started some time ago I have a Great start on the 65 Tempest/Lemans Safari wagon thanks to a photo spread in a magazine. But, I need Good side & rear shots of others. I want to do All possible, so 64, 66 & 67 will do for now They All used the same roof sheet metal as Chevy's 64-667 Malibu/Chevelle wagons! From what I have found the 64 tail lights will be the same as the 65 Tempest/Lemans wagon Those I can create out of Rev-Mono 59 Impala pieces I am Not sure on 66 or 67 tial lights. Also, I guess I need to see if the Polar Lights 64 GTO body is good enough for this project. I have a Basket case Rev 66 I can use and 2 MPC 67's to chose from, so, those are the ones I will attepmt was the roof the same through 72?? If so, I might look at those too. (or at least the 72 as that kit IS still available!!! And Yes, they will Keep GTO script!!!! Since they will all use the GTO hood's I wonder how many Tempest Safari wagons had GTO Engines, etc!!!!! Many Thanks. (and YES, I did do a SEARCH. I found only a FEW pictures that I Might be able to use)
  7. Forgot to add, I did Not realize the stupid's Pickup was NOT the kit, so NO it will not have both pickup box options. Won't have one either. Mostly for scale, but NEVER liked them Idiots either
  8. here is a VEry Good Clip on the Ecto-1 from Adam Savage's (MYTHBUSTER'S) Tested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAwqvynkMeY This is a Actual Replica, not a Model, It will Show a LOT of detail The owner took MANY Pictures of the Actual Film car, so I believe it to be VERY Accurate , they the clear band in the windows does look a little Flat--Not enough arc
  9. Gpt a Puzzle of a C6R Vette the other day Clearanced at Wally's!! Why list a Puzzle here it is a 3D puzzle and builds into a 1/32 scale Model Might want to mhurry into your local W-M's though Those Puzzle/kits Might be Done!! they were $15, but I got that Vette for $7.oo!! there was also an H2 Hummer Pickup, a Mercedes, and Audi & a BMW Not sure on any others though It might help if I take a couple pics.
  10. I can show what I did with that Pacer Wagon. Note, the wood-grain is Balsa border & Contact paper insert I saw one at the local Safeway/Thriftway when I was getting ready to build, and duplicated that car
  11. Which ones? I know thee were 3 kits I have all 3 now Pheaton, Cabriolet & Town Limo/Town Car I also have a Parts lot of the Cabriolet--NOT all of the body is there
  12. Nice Too bad it isn't 1/32 though!! HATE to see a Price though!\ Bet over $75.oo and like.y closer to 100.oo!!!!!!!!
  13. Does that mean Both Cameo fiberglass and step-side finders are included?? Remember, the Cameo did use the Step-Side box all 3 years Then in 58 they brought out the Fleetside The Fiberglass fenders were replaced with Steel outer box sides! The Stepside box sides were removed, the floor extended outward, and the steel sides mounted directly to the floor!!
  14. Actually, I was asking WHY the Grills, Bumpers, etc are x=cast in place on the body tooling on those Round2 True64 diecast Not why the price. For that price, they should be MUCH better made than they are I mean, Tampo-print Grills?? Head & tail lights?? Some of the "DIME Store" toys BELOW Hot Wheels/Matchbox Quality have separate Chrome Plastic grills. It may be part of a Plastic chassis, but...... Even Matchbox & Hot Wheels do that, and they are $1.oo Each Average!!!! At 50 cents to a Dollar Less, M2 diecast have SEPARATE Grills and even clear head light lenses!!!!!!!!!!!! At one time My local Wal-Mart (Just accross the highway) had M2 CLEARANCED!! I got several for Under $3.oo Each!! They just re-stocked that group again Stock & hot rod paint scheme 57 Chevy 210 wagon, 57 Fairlane 500 56 Pontiac VW Beetle, and MORE Some boxes show 42 + Parts to make this Vehicle!! Fewer parts in the Round2 "True64's"!! M2 have opening hoods, even doors on some NOT so on True64's So, Explain why the "True64" diecast are So LACKING in Quality & Detail that others obtain!!
  15. Was that MPC's Or Airfix's?? My bet Airfix!!!!! I have seen a couple Box Art of it. HERE (at MCM) No less
  16. I have had ONE Ultra Bright It did Not feel any different than regular. The only sheet I have they will Not stick is a Gold I go t in Cranberry, Pa, SEVERAL Years ago!! That one would Not stick to itself tacky side to tacky side!!!!!! Been Looking for their Adhesive to try to re-activate the gold sheet. NO Luck so far. Tried ONE time to order direct. They wanted #12.oo Shipping for ONE Sheet!!!! If you want thicker foil, tr\y Model Master! GARBAGE there. That one felt like Plastic Food Wrap, covered by Double face tape (BOTH sides with Kitchen foil on one side for the effect! No matter how well you burnished it down You could NOT prevent leaving a mark in it every time you touched it ESPECIALLY with your fingernail!! Detail Master was Good And a little larger than BMF, But stuck Quickly it would Not stretch like BMF!
  17. Not sure on Decent price for Greenlight diecast Even their 1/64 are High!! I mean, $8.oo-15.oo Each is NOT decent for that small a diecast M2 are $6.oo each at Wal-Mart. Sadly, Both brands are Nice, But PASS!! And Round2's Auto World True 1/64 Authentic.......... Those are Glorified Matchbox/Hot Wheels and also $6.oo or More!! Heck, a set of 6 is $43-45.oo direct from Them!! I have ONE of them and will get NO More Grills, Bumpers etc are part of the body casting!??? Really??? NO paint is going to make that look like Chrome & clear!!!!! I am HOPING Round2 re-issues their 1.43 kits. BUT even if they do.... At what Price????? The last 4 of those O got were Decent in Price. 1 48 Ford Couple Sealed Inside Under $7.50 Shipped!! Same with their 36 Ford Coupe, And 2 57 Chevy Bel Air 36 and 1 Bel Air sealed inside Other Bel Air SEALED Period and UNDER $25.oo TOTAL for the 4 Of Course, This WAS LAst year, so...... There is a 69 Thunderdbird Built Unpainted With Showcase, Decals & Box for only $15.oo + shipping right now. Look around, you Might find a Deal!!!!
  18. Actually remember that the Old Jo-Han Fury had 3 Different sets of Roof Lights California "Coffee Can" lights plus 1 Siren option (More mechanical than Electonic) The red Rotaor & 3 pc siren for the NYPD Green version The Double Blue rotators & "Woofer" type siren on Rack for the Detroit Tactical Unit The Chicago version used one of the Detroit Rotators, the Face & Motor of the NYPD Siren and an underhood mount for that And, Do not forget the Lollypop type rear package shelf lights. I used 2 sets of those on the roof of a San Francisco build Yea, I know they were Mostly FORD at that time, so should have done that build with AMT's 70 Ford kit. But it had Not been available since its Original release The First Aftemarket re-issue was Still YEARS away!! I Still need the SFPD Star too!!!!!! So if you built one, you still have additional lights for a different version I know, I have 3 built leftover, at least 3-4 built Lost over the years, and at least 2 Unbuilt I use a Beacon Ray from one on a Jo-Han 66 Caddy Ambulance too!! And used the Siren from the LAPD version on some before that part was added to the Ambulance kit It would Be nice if the tooling for that kit could be found!!! (BUT, Who would run it if they did find it??????) The AMT 40 Ford Fire Chief kit IS a good option, but does Not have Inner lamps like the Jo-Han Fury parts had The Lamps can be made with Evergreen tube!! IF you do have the Jo-Han kit use the Double Sealed beam lamp from the Detroit/Chicago Blue rotator for the one you want rather that the 4beam NYPD set up Look for the AMT Rescue Blazer Or at least the Ertl 75 Blazer kit Though it uses a TWinsonic Type lightbar, My kit had 6 of the Rotator domes on the clear red tree!!!!
  19. I believe that the AMT Shortbox 72 GMC Stepside kit Will NOT com back as reading here, that Cab was re-tooled into the recent re-issue 72 Cheyenne we have all been asking for since even with 4 re-issues since that modification, it is still Very Rare Sadly, I could have gotten as many as 10 of the Rides issue CHEAP ($8.oo or less), but not knowing if ALL stock parts were left in, I passed on them every trip into Ollie's that time they were there!!! I am not sure about the grill etc, but the cab was converted back to Chevy when the Longbox Fleetside bed, etc was found AMT offered that kit as the 67, then MPC took over for 668 on AMT came back with their 69 Chevy I believe they converted to GMC with the 71 Annual. I have 2 sets of Fleetside box sides, But BOTH have one side Sanded almost blank And BOTH the SAME side!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it will be easier to see Round2 offer the Blazer as a GMC Jimmy than see the GMC Pickup again!! I would LOVE for them to find the Tow Truck parts Last seen in the Cooter's kit and make a re-issue a 2n1 And What about the Mini Pumper Fire truck parts from the 69 & 70 Annuals??? As for what I said about the 66 Imperial, it was Converted into the car from the TV Series Hero I do Not know if the Stock front grill/bumper was altered or replaced. And even though they are doing a Lot of Hollywood kits, FEW are from that Era. The exception being the Elvis Meyers Manx kit ANYTHING Elvis will Sell, but others???? I do hope we see the MPC Vega kit back in Stock Annual as well as the Chevette And AMT's 75-77 Matador other than the nascar versions that have been offered lately
  20. $71.oo LESS 15% for the then New Trumpeter ALF Eagle Pumper Otherwise, Less than 40.oo for any Single kit Got a Heavy Pedal Longbox Stepside Pickup & M-K Wedge/Mini-Motor Home 2 kit deal for $45.oo a few years ago Oh, Are you sure you git a Whopper with Big Mac?? I would have expected a Big Mac since that is who that Police constable is!
  21. I do not believe the 71 last issued by Ertl in the 80's was converted MPC had done the 74 Annual I know, I have it and the 73 I built back then and the re-issued 71 with Superbird option Yes, I do hope they re-issue the 71 Complete. And the 72 C10 Pickup Altering the kit to 69-71 would also be nice Maybe have a way to ooffer all those grills in the box BUT, they need to re-tool (OF Find) the Original Grill tool insert!!!! As for Moebius giving us a 65 Coronet,,,,,,,,, I doubt it as Polar Lights gave us That one, and as soon as Moebius even Hits at a Rumor that they MIGHT do one, Round2 will put their P-L version back Out FAST!! Both Hardtop & Convertible!!!!! So far, I believe this is the ONLY Pre-painter Polar Lights American Muscle kit NOT re-issued at least on some form The 64 GTO hardtop was offered in AMT/Johnny Lightning, AND then P-L box art Even the Ford GT was re-issued, and didn't they do the 05 GTO too? I am also hoping for the 64 Comet to come back out, and how about the 59 Imperial??? Or the Deluxe Parts pack?? Racer's Wedge & Open Road Mini-Motor Home How about doing them in separate issues of the Chevy Pickup???? Though the Mini-Motor Home was in the 69 Annual and the Wedge in the 71, they could still do either as a Retro Deluxe with the 72!
  22. Well, We know the 66 Imperial became the "Hero" car Not sure if the stock grill still exists. Plus what they did to the body!! The 62 Lincoln became the 63, then 64, etc, etc. I am Not sure on the Sonny & Cher parts for the Mustang, But the 67 Cougar became the 68, then the 69 last offered as a 428 CJ & Eliminator Wish they could offer it again as the XR7 with Original engine & exhaust. It would be GREAT to see the Mail Truck Custom back and to have a 1/25 version of Black Beauty BUT, PLEASE the TV version with Modified tail lights, and NOT the Movie version with Stock Imperial rear treatment!!! (UNLESS they also offer a Stock 64-66 Imperial kit AND separate TV Version pieces!!!!
  23. I built the Medicine Van back then Got it through the Model Builders club
  24. Still makes one $60.oo!!!!
  25. Another I forgot I have that Testor's Supervan too!! need to dig it out and restore it though!!!!! I have the Police version of that Monogram Dodge van and the Police version of the Chevy Sure would be nice if RevoGram re-issued thouse Maybe even as 2n1. Custom or Police/Ambulance And I hope Round2 re-issues their other 1/32 kits!! Especially the MPC Vans, and the Monaco Police Cruiser!!!!!!
