  1. Cool! I dig those 70's show cars, I just completed the Troublemaker not long ago, and thought about picking this one up as a companion. Yours looks really good.
  2. If you are concerned, look at the address you have typed in, or clicked link for, if you see this.. you will notice that the web address simply starts as http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums BUT…if you simply ad https:// by typing it in directly in front of the www. It will add security, and you can save THAT link as your favorite, which will then make the address look like this… Notice that the exclamation mark went from being in a triangle to a circle, and the words “not secure” disappears. While this will not fully secure your information, I do agree Peter that you simply do not post any banking info, or SSN, etc. I have been on here 10 years, no issues at all.
  3. Cool project, ready to follow along.
  4. Thanks for sharing some cool models! WELCOME tot he forum!!
  5. Oh MAN that is purdy.
  6. I could certainly go for something TVR around this era
  7. Saw this yesterday leaving an appointment.
  8. I am digging this. I am a bog fan of these early 60 Fords and yours looks really good.
  9. Thanks everyone for the kind words, I sincerely appreciate it. Some day I will work on a full garage, but that may be some time away as there are so many car projects "in the queue".
  10. First project of 2021 complete. This was my first attempt at a diorama in over 20 years and my first to incorporate some weathering skills I have been acquiring over time. This is purely a façade, and there are definitely things that I could continue to work on, but it was just supposed to be a quick backdrop project to photograph my cars. As there are things I wish I had done differently, I will cease at this point and call it done, and take some of those other details I was going to add , and apply to my next one some time down the road. The brick is styrene brick sheet from the stash, so I do not recall if Evergreen or Plastruct or something else, but it was molded in white. Base is layered Styrofoam, pedestrian door is paper with scratched styrene handle. The garage door is again styrene sheet from the stash so I am not sure of the supplier, with scratched handle from brass. The asphalt is also from very old supply of Hudson and Allen Studio. Two of the pictures are my 6yr old sons' Airfix Quickbuild on there for size reference, and because he was excited to participate.
  11. Really sharp, I really like grays on sports cars.
  12. #206 was a Contest issue, are you sure you are not in possession of that one?
  13. That is a very cool project!
  14. Me either for the most part, I have projects that use both scale parts to complete, as some are oversized, some under anyway..so...
  15. Yes, while I did not want to initially unsubscribe from their emails, just in case something came across of interest, they are now coming almost daily. Auto trash is the best solution for sure.
  16. Testors had their line of metalizers, both in spray can, and bottle. I bought up as many as I could fine prior to most of the stores/shops around here selling them out, but you should still be able to land some online for a little while longer. (Testors line discontinued of course, with no word on these paints appearing in any other lines) You spray it on, and buff it out. GREAT stuff. There are others as well, but these do what you are asking with ease. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-2-Model-Master-1402-Stainless-Steel-Buffing-Metalizer-Lacquer-1-2-fl-oz/373309274058?epid=1104832889&hash=item56eaf777ca:g:x6EAAOSw3olfqxki Alclad also has a version, but it does not polish out.
  17. What section did you get the "blanket" material, and did you also get the Spazstix at Hobby Lobby? if so, where dd they have that. I have not seen either of those in our stores.
  18. I thought the Altered class fell under the "comp" category. https://www.nhra.com/nhra-101/drag-racing-classes
  19. Pulled these out of my mail box today, will be re-builders.
  20. Cool "little mouse", with a snakes bite no less!
  21. Thanks for letting me know that, I never paid attention to the fact that Round2 owned Autoworld, never bought from the website. While that certainly does improve the profit margin, there is still a cost to set up the production run, and I still believe they are counting on those buyers to buy other stuff at the same time. I know when I order something on line, I hate buying one item for the shipping, so I typically buy a bunch of stuff at once to offset that shipping. The limited run acts as an enticement to "act now" as it were, for folks such as myself that might otherwise hold off. I just want them to offer more tire parts packs for the other versions of tampo printed tires they have been releasing.
  22. Argh! My sincere apologies, pasted the wrong link. Aurora 1974 Vintage SUPER SCALE PINTO FUNNY CAR Kit #852 Factory Sealed Box !!, eBay item number: 383823549919 https://www.ebay.com/itm/383823549919?ul_noapp=true
