A day two car is a fairly new term restorers use when they do a car that has a few period correct speed parts on it but is otherwise fairly stock. They call it day two because you bought it on day one, then on day two you added some things like let's say some big tires, cragars or torq thrusts. Maybe headers and a sun tach. See where I'm going with this? Some shows have classes for these now even
Ding ding ding. Building a day two car from say around 70-73. Possibly built by a fairly wealthy young man who had a need for speed. I'm hoping you guys like it. Mock up pics coming this evening
Hey guys. I will change the title a bit tmo once the car arrives. I have this build in my head even though I have a vette, duster and the torino engine on my bench. I will have this new one in my hands tmo but I was wondering if you guys ever build around parts you just have and didn't know what to do with? I found this wheel and tire setup hiding in my stash. They are big/little torq thrusts in white metal/aluminum. I added the redlines today. What could these be going on? Guesses?
Typically mopars are dark grey primer underneath then have body color overspray from the sides in. Rear wheel wells sometimes blacked out sometimes not. Rear springs were cosmoline coated. Which is a greyish gold. Here is my cuda
I'm here! I hit a wall with the look of the engine I was going for. BUT!, I conquered it today after work and it's something I have not seen done to tie together a theme and a look I have in my head for this car. Won't be long now. I hope you guys are as excited once you see it
I fit the 37 Ford street rod independent front end under my on hold pro touring t bolt. Fit like a glove and I built a nice 427 cammer for it. I took the towers right out. I can put pics up of what I have done on mine if you like
Procharger came from a member here. Shucky. He does nice turbos too. You get the procharger, pulleys and belt. I made the bracket, piping, intake, elbow, throttle body, blow off, valve covers. Fuel rails
It's easy. Take a nascar Ford intake. I used a monogram one. Cut it in half front to back and offset the runners. I will build one for someone to cast if there is interest Here is mine for a hemi. I also built this setup for a wedge
Coming along nicely. I noticed the front brakes are on wrong. The calipers should be on the upper rear picture this. If the spindle top is 12 o clock the calipers should be at the 1 o clock position
No worries. Most of the Ford ones I know from memory but I do keep pictures around for the ones I don't know. My wife loves it when I fill her I pad with pictures of what she deems useless info. Lol
I like the engine but the parted in the middle plug wires kill it for me and most likely any judge. It takes less than 5 seconds to find the correct firing order and add realism. Like this
