  1. Picked up the issue with the green roadster on the cover at B&N yesterday. I found it to be everything you mentioned and maybe even more in some respects. I think that for those of us that prefer to have this type of information in our hands or on our shelves this magazine is a must have.
  2. Good idea except when these tires were made, I don't think date codes were required.
  3. Over time I have purchased several different size Wire Nails or Brads at Home Depot to use for mounting wheels on a model. From the most used size, #15x1 1/2, #16x1 1/4 and #17x3/4 length. I even have some #18x3/4 but haven't had to use them that often. They come in small plastic containers and are usually sold based on weight, so they are really inexpensive. You will need a large wire cutter type of plyers to cut to length.
  4. Depending on the size of can and manufacturer of paint, you might want to pick up and extra can of each color.
  5. I like how the body designs of the Studebaker and the El Camino flow together. The Studebaker rear wheel openings look much better. Great looking colors and trim.
  6. Beautiful looking paint color and finishes. I always thought the enclosed trailer should have an engine and interior of its own.
  7. Great looking stance and the colors still look fresh in this.
  8. Beautiful looking paint work and finish. Like the paint design. The chassis and interior in this kit show just how far things have come in the last 50 plus years of model kits. Still looks good with a little extra effort on the chassis and interior.

    '56 Chevy Bel Air

Great looking paint work and colors. The trim is all cleanly done.
  10. Great looking Malibu SS. The paint color looks great, much like the light metallic blue that Chevrolet offered at that time. Like the stock showroom look.
  11. Beautiful looking paint and interior finishes. Nicely detailed engine. Even like the period wide white walls.
  12. The body enhancements to the front end, hood, open door and trunk all look great. The paint is very smooth and like the color. The interior has a nice contrast to the body color. The chassis work is a model all by itself.
  13. Looks like the Tim Worm has been chewing on the lower extremities.
  14. We share your Rabbit infestation issues. My wife is getting closer to letting me end them if they get into her flowers in the front planter again. My problem is the close proximity to the golf cart trail by our house limits my hunting times.
  15. The fastback roof looks at home on this body, maybe because GM did build some that way. Was the roof section from the AMT Chevrolet kit? Like the added three spears on the trunk to match the hood design. Like the color and the stance.
  16. Great looking Roadster. Smooth paint finish and cleanly detailed engine and chassis.
  17. Beautiful looking paint finish and the vinyl roof and tail stripes all look like the way it would have been.
  18. Both are beautiful looking builds. I also agree with you on Audi's painted sail panels, thought they looked awkward. Great paint finishes and clean looking body trim.
  19. Great looking paint and trim. I'm surprised at by the proportions of the body. Most of the smaller scale kits I have looked at in the past always seemed a bit off. Looking at your pictures I wouldn't have known this wasn't a 1/24th or 1/25th scale model. Like the engine and chassis detailing, and of course the wheels.
  20. Might try striping the paint and see just how bad the plastic is underneath. Sometimes, and only sometimes an automotive type of filler primer may smooth out the surface enough to try again. I just had the same issue using some Duplicolor touch up on a Charger build. Striped the paint and was able to save the panels I had painted using this method.
  21. Nice, how much were they asking?
  22. Beautifully detailed build. I like how you do the lighting.
  23. Great looking paint color and smooth finish. The body trim all looks cleanly done. I had forgotten about the unique air cleaner attached to the cowl.
  24. About the time your Mercury came out there were several different styles if white wall tires from different manufacturers. I think that Ford Motor Company along with Chrysler and a few upscale GM offerings were offered with duel white strips. I don't recall ever seeing the wording and stripe design on your tire, but that doesn't mean they weren't available. The fact that there is two different sidewall designs make me think that this tire may have been a replacement for the OEM tires. Either way this would make some great garage wall art.
