Another thought on a color combination. Find the factory color chart that shows the different colors that were offered. They had some interesting two-tone color combinations and the body trim on the Bel Airs offered a great way to show them.

Love looking at all the little details. Your trucks always are so realistic looking and having spent enough time in some dingy car dealerships I feel I can vouch for the paint coming up on the drive and the dusty wall heater.

Great looking truck and the bike is real eye catching.
-
Great looking color and engine and chassis.
-
Great looking finishes and a very stately looking build.
-
Beautiful looking Merc and love the color and paint finish. I saw all the issues you ran into on this build.
-
Excellent attention to details. Beautiful looking paint and interior.
-
Great looking paint and body trim. Like the detailing on the interior seats. The engine looks very factory.
-
Beautiful looking body work and paint scheme. Very comprehensive chassis and engine setup. Interior is well thought out and looks comfortable.

Like the clean looking paint finish. Very realistic amount of metallic in the Silver. Cleanly detailed and painting the centers on the Rally Wheels also makes them look better.

Great looking paint work and clean looking body trim. You're right about the stance, a little like a Super Stocker from the day. Might relook at the front spindles to see if they may be switched from side to side.

The rear window "vent" may be more for relieving the air pressure inside the car at speed than letting air in. Try this the next time you are driving on the highway. Turn off the air conditioning and roll down the driver's side window at 60 mph plus. You will notice a change in the pressure on your ear drums and may sense a low drumming sound and may even feel it in your chest. The open side window allows the air moving along the side of the car to inter the interior and actually build some air pressure inside the car. Now if your car has rear side windows that will roll down, try that and notice the difference. The opening at the top of the rear window on the Mustangs allowed the interior pressure to escape thru the rear window vent. -

The stories I recall from that time was that they would rent a GT350H and R&R the engines in the pits and return the original engine to the rental before turning in the car. This made sense in that if Hurtz ever verified the engine ID they would know that the engine had been switched. -
Beautiful looking finishes. Haven't built a Corvette of any kind in years, this may be one to do.
-
Great engine detailing without looking to crowded under the hood. Like the paint finish and color, a very popular color combination on these at that time. Clean looking body trim.
-
Beautiful paint finish. I'll bet the 1:1 never had this nice of a finish. Great paint detailing on the engine and chassis.
-
Great looking tribute to your friends Ford. Like the hood opening mods on his 1:1.

What did you see on the road today?

My compliments to whoever chopped the top on this car. Keeping the proportions and especially the side windows isn't easy. -

Strictly hear say, but there used to be many stories written about these Hurtz cars having engine swaps with SCCA cars on curtain weekends and returned with their original engines after the racers were done with them. Did any of this actually happen? I really don't know, but it was a pretty common legend at the time. Really wouldn't be that hard to do with a knowledgeable crew of a couple of guys. -
YES.....another USPS rant!!!!!! WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!??

Like everyone else I have had issues with FEDEX. I thought someone here might enjoy what I saw while shopping the other day. This guy was pushing his cart in the other direction at COSTCO and I noticed the shirt he was wearing. His shirt looked much like the ones you would see some of the FEDEX drivers wearing, except on the front instead of saying FEDEX it said FEDUP. I thought it was sort of funny anyway. -

Don't recall the exact production numbers, but many of the Hurtz cars were in fact 4-speed cars. They did have a high attrition rate as you might expect. In the mid 1980's I lived in Sacramento and shared a back yard fence with a lovely widow lady who had an old Hurtz 4-speed car that her husband used to play with. So, they were out there, but I have no idea of how many. -
The cleanup of the body and the trim really make a difference in the appearance of this Promo.

Like the color and the white running boards and interior speaks of a much earlier time.
