  1. The Biscayne has the one year only roof design and the grill emblem indicates that it would have the 348 engine, one can only wonder.
  2. Notice that the Lab seems to be the most intense.
  3. Must be city kids. Swans and Ducks are pretty cool birds.
  4. This could happen here.

    '39 Chevy Coupe

Great looking, well used street machine. The paint finish is what many look like until you can save up for the paint shop, but still drive it.
  6. Very realistic looking build. As mentioned by others, it's hard to tell the model from a real car. You are correct about this being "A Sexy Car". In the early 1970's there was a local business owner who owned a black one and would dive past my workplace early in the morning on his way to work. The first time I ever heard him going thru the gears the sound made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Still think of that car every time I see a picture or a model like this.
  7. First, Happy Birthday. Beautiful looking Ferrari and the tone-on-tone paint treatment looks great. All the paint finishes and detailing really make this a standout looking build.
  8. Fitting front end treatment. Better than using an old Edsel grill for sure.
  9. Not sure if my experience with the lug nut issues is the same, but. My issue had to do with a Grand Prix that had the polished wheels. The Lugnuts had a shiny aluminum cover wrapped around the actual Lugnut more for show than anything else. The problem really started when I had new tires installed and the air gun jockey used a socket that was slightly larger than what was required. This started rounding off the corners of the outer aluminum cover. The problem really became apparent when the outer cover started spinning around the Lugnut that held the wheels too the hub. At this point the only way to get the wheels off was to chisel the outer cover off the Lugnut so that a proper sized socket could be used. The tire shop did finally offer to buy new Lugnuts from the dealer to replace all of the ones they had jacked up. I showed them a less expensive way was to just buy a complete set of new solid chrome Lugnuts for all of the wheels and it was still less than a few OEM Pontiac Lugnuts. Sometimes the stylist designing vehicles should consult with the engineers before a final design goes into production, and shop foramen should make sure the guys in the shop use the correct size socket before rounding off a half a dozen or so Lugnuts.
  10. Thursday, we merged onto Hwy 70 going west around the Kansas Speedway and fell in behind a transport truck with what I'm sure was a load of new Corvettes headed west. They were all wrapped in a tight-fitting white cover with little slits with plastic windows that lined up with the side windows and the windshield. I saw at least two different style wheels and both styles were shiny black colored. From our low vantage point alongside the trailer, it looked like at least two and one red one on the lower deck of the trailer. Hard to take pictures when you're merging with 70 mph + traffic and cars trying to exit in front of you while you're trying to inter traffic and look at car transporters.
  11. Great looking finishes and cleanly detailed. I have been diddle dinking around with one of these myself for far too long and have encountered the same issues with the cab and the bed that you mentioned. I thought it was just me. The Go Kart looks good as well.
  12. Beautiful looking paint finish and color.
  13. Beautiful looking finishes. This is the sort of build that puts a big smile on your face.
  14. Great looking paint finish and color. The body stripes look good with the rear window louvers. A coworker of mine bought one of these in the late '80's when these could still be found for a reasonable price. His was even this same color combination. Like the interior and engine detailing you did here.
  15. Didn't Ford used to much their motto, "Ford has a better idea" ?
  16. Hi Mozzi, great photos and congratulations on your well-deserved awards. Enjoyed meeting you and seeing your builds firsthand.
  17. Depending on the effect you are wanting you might try a couple of Tamiya products. Their X-19 Smoke brush paint and their Black, along with other colors, Black Panel Line Accent can be used to highlight detail while darkening some of the sheen. Similar products are available from others, but the Tamiya products are what I have used with good results.
  18. Beautiful looking paint color and finish. The engine and chassis detailing look great. Like the interior and the kits wheels and tires look more in character in this build style.
  19. The paint work looks great along with the color. I remember a customer that had one of these when new that was whatever color Ford offered that looked just like this. His was a small block and 4 speed, it was a runner. Like the wheel detailing.
  20. Thanks for the decal info. Didn't realize they were even available.
  21. Looks like the body shrank when it was cast.
  22. I remember when they were thinking about lawn mowers. Not testing so much as outlawing the gas powered ones altogether.
  23. This can vary from one body style to another. On a station wagon or any car or truck with that general design it would be best to have the exhaust exit slightly tuned to the side to exit. The air movement from under the vehicle tends to send the exhaust up the back side of the vehicle and depending on how airtight the passenger compartment is there is the possibility of the exhaust gasses entering the passenger area. Having had a pickup with a shell on the back this can also cloud the rear window and seemed to dirty up the tailgate. Exhaust extending very far from the back edge of the bumper can catch you shin, and that can hurt more than you may realize. Do what looks good to yourself, and then figure out what could go wrong, then decide what is most important to you.
  24. Great looking body conversion, and something Henry should have thought of.
