Beautiful looking paint work and the shade of red looks like the 1:1 car that I have seen in pictures. The decals look like they laid down well.

Always enjoyed his humor. Saw his act live once at Lake Tahoe, The front row seat customers were given clear raincoats to ware. This was when they had just started limiting smoking everywhere. A guy sitting several rows up wouldn't put out his cigar even after a few warnings and Gallagher had one of those backpack style tanks that forest fire firefighters use and a simple pump of the nozzle can shoot a stream further than you would think possible. One shot and the guy's cigar was out before security could even get too him. A shame he didn't have a raincoat.

Rat Harley
espo replied to Brizio's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
The fascinating part of this build is studying all the little detail bits and pieces you have added. I think of it as much as an "Overlander" as a "Rat Rod" style. -

Great looking pickup. The Camper looks good as well, look forward to seeing them together again soon. -

Watching the WIP and seeing the engineering in the chassis and the engine was really impressive. Great paint work. -
Not a subject often seen, and that is too bad since this really looks great. Besides the paint and the excellent detailing the paint finish looks better than the originals did.

Great looking paint finish and color. Like the build style and the stance. Where did you find the Union 76 ball for the antenna?

Looking great. I had a similar air cleaner and hood clearance issue on the one I did. I used an OEM style dual snorkel air filter with the 3 twos. I had to shave a little off the inside of the air cleaner and the top of the carbs to get it to just fit. Used the headers from the old AMT '62 Bel Air 409 with a little sanding the worked. Hope this info can be of some help.

Like the chassis and the clean engine detailing. -
Like the resin body. Might try a type 2 engine or even leave the engine covered.

Revell 1969 Camaro
espo replied to Perspect Scale Modelworks's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you haven't gotten your kit ordered yet you may want to check Hobby Lobby this week. This is their 40% off on model's week, and last week I saw where they have the new '69 Camaro in stock here so it maybe in your area as well. -
The times I have needed to strip the paint on a model I have used Super Clean in the purple container. This can be found in just about any auto parts store and Wal Mart. The only drawback I have encountered is that it has little to no effect on the Tamiya primer. An old toothbrush will also come in handy for scrubbing body and door seems.

I think many of the auto manufacturers are guilty of this. We bought an '09 Jeep Wrangler and it came with a nice camo canvas folder with a leather strap and buckle for the owner's manual and warranty books. My '10 Dodge Charger had a nice case for the books as well. Replaced that with a '19 Dodge Charger and the same thing, a nice folder for the books. The wife's '21 Jeep Cherokee we had to ask for the books and warranty papers since that has now become as option. And yet they are asking for over MSRP for these new cars. Greed can and will diminish the new car buying experience and in turn diminish customer loyalty to the brand as well as the dealer.

I sympathize with your issues with the owner's manuals. When we got my wife's new Jeep Cherokee last year, they offered the option of going online to look at owner's manuals or getting the printed manuals. I'm sure you know which we did. This seems to be the latest way for companies to save fifty cents on a sale.

Modelzona November 5th 2022 - THIS SATURDAY!!!!!!!!
espo replied to Nosferatu's topic in Contests and Shows
So many great looking models. Lots of inspiration looking at some of these. -
Beautiful looking paint finish. Going to have to try one of the Tamiya kits, they seem to have some really fine chassis and interior detailing. With your models detailing and the backdrop it looks just like the picture of your real car.
-
They are all beautifully done paint and trim details. These are very hard kits to come by. The black S-55 hardtop is trhe one I would want to have, both for the color combination but alos for what that car represented at the time.

What did you see on the road today?

Nice neighborhood, as they say when you see something like this parked at the curb. -
Another ‘What is this, please?’
espo replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Looks like something Ford would have on display at the new car auto shows of old. While maybe not practical for a family car of the day, it sure looks good to me. The back seat is fashioned after the Thunder Bird wraparound rear seating. -
Escalade clipped Silverado

Great looking color and the front-end change looks natural. I think there used to be a kit to do this with the 1:1 trucks at that time. Like the stance and the lower body mods. -
Chopped/channeled 50 Ford Custom Pickup
espo replied to Ferbz's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Beautifully done Kustom. Your build looks like something from the "Little Pages" of the Rod & Custom magazine. All of the styling Q's are what was done, even the color.
