Wish I had known that trick when I built one of these a couple of years ago. Seems to be a problem with this kit and hard to understand why Round 2 hasn't done anything about it.

For all the problems you had on this it sure turned out great. I like the paint finish, and this looks good with your little Chevy II along for the ride. -

Great looking finishes and I like the debris in the bed. -

Beautiful attention to detail thru out. This looks like one of the trucks out of the Low Rider Magazines. I like the bed floor and the side boards. -
Great body work in creating this. The wide whites are a great compliment.

Great looking '57 Ford. The color combination helps show off the trim and body style.

Like the color being something different than what you usually see on a convertible, looks a little more elegant. Nice trim and matching interior color.
-
Great looking engine details. Good color combination.
-
Bright color contrasts well with the black roof color. Nice chrome trim.

Enjoyed watching your rebuild on this.

Beautifully done, not often seen style.

Great looking color and paint finish. I like the chassis and engine detailing.

Beautiful looking paint finish and the trim all looks great. Those are the widest rear tires I can remember let alone on an early Ford.

Beautiful looking Corvette. The color looks great and the engine detailing as well.
-
Beautiful color for the body and the interior. The carpet looks great as well.

Pontiac did offer the OHC six with a hotter cam and a four barrel. Belt driven super charger, or a turbo would work as well.
-
Look forward to your builds. These had beautiful body lines and shapes. While not the same, I owned a '66 Chevrolet Impala SS and the share the same roof line.

Ken is an amazing driver, wish he had better luck when he was doing Rally Racing.

What did you see on the road today?

Someone was probably driving their truck on auto cruise playing patty cake and listening to their dog howl. -
At Walmart (at least one store)
espo replied to Classicgas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My local Wal Mart had a small display of models but never refilled the display when they were sold so maybe it wasn't a success for them. They have also cut back on the die cast models in the 1/25th scale. I think it just depends on the market and whoever is in charge of ordering inventor. The big push now seems to be remote control cars and trucks. -
Next time you go to a hardware store checkout their small packages of nails. I have used #17 or #18 size brads that can be cut to length needed and seem to fit most kits wheel backs and the opening in the differential ends. There is no fear of bending or breaking them, the hardest part is getting a pair of side cutters to cut them as needed.

How much time do you spend at a modeling session?
espo replied to Joe Nunes's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I will usually toil away until I have to wait for paint and or glue to dry before I can do anything else. -
Another source of a blower set up for the 348/409 engine can be found in the early AMT '57 Chevrolet kit. That kit had a blower with four side draft carbs and an enclosed drive belt setup for the kits W engine option. In the AMT kit this made it possible to fit everything under the stock hood. I'm sure there would be some fine tuning on the fit, but it should work, or even use the entire engine from the '57 kit.

As others have pointed out, a trial fit in advance of any gluing or painting can show fitment issues. I have found it amazing how just a little minor fit issue with the interior sides and dash become huge problems when you try and fit the interior into the body and the glass. A little adjustment and sanding ahead of time can save you more time than you realize.

Now this may be out of place since it was a positive experience. When we moved, we wanted to add some additional ceiling fans and Home Depot was having a sale on them, so we went down to check them out. We found three that we liked, and they were all different styles since they were going to be in different areas. I was starting to assemble one fan when I noticed the fan didn't match the picture on the box and the instructions were wrong. I loaded everything back into thew box and went back to HD. The return desk had to get the manager and there was some examining of the fan, and it did appear that someone had been into the box and had changed the fan in the box. She was able to see in her inventory that someone had bought the fan and then returned it. Never knew these things had serial numbers. She suggested that the person bought a few fans just as we had. They returned the most expensive fan box with the least expensive fan inside. She didn't hesitate for a moment and called another store, and they had the fan we had bought. She replaced the fan with the proper product, apologized all over herself for our inconvenience and gave me her card and said if I ever had a problem with anything in the future to just call her. Had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. When was the last time you ever got that kind of service?
