  1. Nice kit. If you're thinking of a warmed-over flathead, the Arden heads from the '50 Ford pickup will work also.
  2. That's the safeguard that Krylon includes in their enamel paints. When the smell is gone, you can start to think about any additional coats of paint.
  3. Beautifully done TJ. They only look this good when new.
  4. Very creative design and the paint finish looks great.
  5. The engineering that went into this model would rival anything that Boyd would have cooked up. A lot of attention to the smallest little details on the chassis and hinges.
  6. Great looking classic car. Clean looking trim and chrome.
  7. Great looking paint finish. The white accents and the wide whites look era correct.
  8. I agree with Slotto on the paint. What color and products did you use?
  9. That used car lot has a weekly posting on You-Tube.
  10. This is all pilot error plan and simple. All this guy had to do was hit the kill switch when he first started having a problem. The guy panicked, kind of like a driver standing on the gas when they meant to stand on the brakes. No doubt the brakes were inadequate for the application and again that is on the owner.
  11. I would be a buyer for a Baja Bug kit. I used to have a '67 with the earlier headlights in the center style. Impi solid steel wheels and 10.00 x 15 floatation rear tires.
  12. I agree, this is a great looking build. The stance is right where it looks the best. The clean body and paint look good together along with the interior.

    AMT 61 Impala..

    Great looking color combination.
  14. They both look great. You mention the primer on the one, and in the 1:1 if left exposed to the elements that type of appearance often happens with a primer. Great stance and the level of engine detailing.
  15. Looks great, I like that you have two hoods for display.
  16. I agree with everyone ekse on the paint finish and the color looks great. Glad your hand is in a few pictures, reminds you that it is a model and not a real car.
  17. Great looking paint finish and your setting always compliments your builds. The clean looking trim and side stripe look good.
  18. Clean looking build. The paint looks really smooth and shiny.
  19. Great looking paint finish. I like the blue dot taillights and the quick change rearend. Think about scuffing the tread on the slicks?
  20. You might want to explore TarheelRick's suggestion on the fenders. Ran into the same problem on one I built, and I was using tires not even as wide as you have here. Doing that will allow you to have the fender cover and even wrap around the tires edge.
  21. I like the interior design. I'm starting to think I may want to build a V-dub soon.
  22. This and the '56 Ford AMT kits were as good as it got when they came out. Still a great kit to build off of. Spend a little time with the door hinges and they'll work fine.
  23. Did the Beaumont offer the raised roof or was that added? Great looking show.
  24. After all the work and money spent in addition to what was overlooked. Too bad the owner/driver didn't have the forethought to shut off the engine when he first realized there was a problem. I guess he must have panicked.
