  1. The Concours can also be found on YTube. How about a 50' boat built in the '30's with twin 12-cylinder aircraft engines with over 1000 hp each with a stainless-steel roof that is still in operation.
  2. The wood boats of old are without a question a sight to behold. For those with an interest there is a Concours d'Elegance for wooden boats at Lake Tahoe on 8/12/22. I have attended in the past when I lived in Sacramento and it was a great one-day outing. I suggest anyone interested to look up the show and the pictures of past shows as well.
  3. Great way to celebrate the 4th.
  4. Both are outstanding looking builds. I like the louvers on the side panels. A must have on a real car if driven in warm weather.
  5. Chassis is looking good. The tire thing is just one of my hang ups, so I try and mention it hoping not to hurt anyone's feelings.
  6. I like the engine choice, nice to see something different.
  7. Nice looking start. You might even consider just a coat or two of clear over your base coat. This is a nice-looking color as is.
  8. I'm interested in seeing your New York style. The soft top is really well done and a must have no matter what coast the build is centered on. You mentioned the issues with parking, and New York doesn't have a corner on that problem. The factory option for the Vdubs were some nice and dainty looking chrome bars mounted to the bumpers. You might consider something a little more substantial for body protection. Look at a Jeep accessory catalog for what is sometimes called a Bully Bar. The design is to prevent a Jeep from rolling end for end on a sharp decent down a hill. The design would cause the vehicle to land on its side since that would cause less damage. Such a bar would prevent anyone parking around your Vdub from overriding the bumpers. Just a thought.
  9. Funny how things like this can happen and in the end, it was the best solution.
  10. The chassis and stance look great. Not to nitpick but, you might want to check the tires on what looks like the driver's side. The tires look good but have a directional tread design. In the pictures the passenger side tires look to be going in the correct direction and the driver's side seem to be reversed.
  11. Very clean looking. Great color combination with the interior on this.
  12. The finished model looks great, sorry to hear about the problems you had. I like the color and the finish on the paint and interior.
  13. The side moldings look good.
  14. We call these guys "organ donors" around here,
  15. By pinstripe decals are you needing something along the length of the body or some sort of a design feature? Gofer Racing Decals offers some interesting decal sheets.
  16. I agree with Glen on the smoothed trunk. These had such smooth lines anyway and all that clutter on the trunk lid just didn't look correct. Great looking color and paint finish. The interior looks well appointed as well.
  17. Great looking build. The paint is smooth, and all the body trim is cleanly done.
  18. Great to see this getting some well-deserved love.
  19. Great looking chopped top. The way you cut the rear portion of the roof it all follows smoothly.
  20. I have always liked looking at the Monaros and this one is really exceptional. The quality of the body work along with the entire engineering of the chassis is amazing. Alway wished that GM would have brought these cars to the US. In '05 when I retired, I bought what was sold here as a Pontiac GTO with the 6-speed manual. Drove it for nine years and only sold it because of my neck not allowing me to bend enough to get in and out. Still mis that car.
  21. Beautiful looking paint finish on the body. Like the drive train swap idea.
  22. Amazing looking paint color and finish. All the body fitment looks great, and the interior looks like some place you would want to spend some time, were 1/25th of my size.
  23. Beautiful looking paint finish and color.
  24. Your build looks great. I like the family history on this, and the day two look with the wheels and headers. Cleanly detailed builds like this offset any problems with the basic kit.
  25. Would be nice to see any pictures you care to share of the model show. The 1:1 cars as well.
