1/24 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Mecom Racing Team

Great looking color and paint finish and the body work all looks smooth. Amazing what can be done with this kit with some real clean assembly and attention to details like the engine and interior. -
I have been getting some great ideas watching how you have done this interior.
-
I don't recall this problem from past builds of this kit, some time has passed since then. My thought would be to put the hood in heated water and gently try and bend it into the shape it should be. Should that not work I may have an old AMT '40 hood. The paint would have to be striped, but if you need it PM me your mailing address.

Despite the problems you mentioned this build looks great. I like the clean stock look. The engine looks well detailed with wires and plumbing. Good looking paint and interior color combination.

I agree with Vintage AMT about the river bottom looking finish and that would include the hood as well. I notice what looks like some sand and dirt around the edges inside the bed. Great job with the aging of this. -
Beautiful looking color and paint finish. Like the way you did the interior colors. Everything including the chassis is so cleanly done.
-
The engine is a stand-alone model by itself. Great looking detailing.

I always find the stories behind some of these high priced collector cars interesting. Thank you for sharing the information.
-
Great looking body proportions. Get well soon.
-
Interesting subject well built. The interior looks really cleanly done.

Beautiful looking paint work and the interior is realistic looking. The background story on this car does leave one to wonder what someone had planned for it, I think you may be correct that it would have been a drag Car, but why a Convertible with all the body flex?
-
I think your vision of this model is a lot better looking. I like the grill you made and the notched rear bumper for the exhaust looks good.
-
Great looking paint finish and clean trim on the Super Fly. I agree with you on the hopes of a stock Grand Prix being reissued, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that ever happening.
-
This has been an interesting adventure watching the different paint jobs. I'm impressed with your creativity and would have been proud of any one of them on one of my builds.

This is the Revell '68 Firebird Ram Air kit painted Tamiya TS-21 Gold and TS-13 Clear. The only body modifications were to open the hoods ram air intakes and the cowl vent and add a screen behind the open grill. The suspension is slightly lowered in front and added the kits slapper bars in the rear. The interior is painted Tamiya TS-68 Wood Deck Tan and TS-80 Flat Clear. Did a little painted wood trim on the dash center and steering wheel. The floor has color matched flocking for carpet. I left out the console and made a surround for the floor shifter. The wheels and tires are the options in the kit and has the slicks for the rear.

Your right, I meant Fireball. I bought a few items for the Broncho last year from a supplier at a swap meet and they were from Fireball. Another possibility would be Olsen Brothers Scale Model Parts. I also got some real nice looking tube bumpers from them at the same swap meet. Their site is www.resincastmodelparts.com

Thankyou, I also like cars from this era as they are what I grew up around.

I would leave it just the way it is. I like the overdone look of the rear tires and the shifter. Should you be thinking of another different style or look just get another kit and then display them together. This is a tuff looking little roadster.

Beautiful looking paint finish and the wheels set it off nicely. The interior looks great from what I can see.
-
Great looking Rivira. The paint finish might even be better than the 1:1. These cars looked like customs when they were new and hasn't changed with time.

Bella's 34 Ford P/U

Congratulations to Bella on the well-deserved trophy. That paint is really great looking. -
Your new color is a pleasant looking change. The Big Metallic you mention is sort of a characteristic of some of the Testors paints. I wouldn't be too concerned about your air temp, remember it is common to warm the paint can in warm water before using and that brings it above your air temp usually. Just about any paint that has a lot of metallic in it and has sat on the shelf for a time will take a lot of agitating to get all of the metallic particles back in suspension.
