Great looking color and all the trim is cleanly done. The wheels really add to the look and the stance is a realistic looking.

Thanks, I'm going to get a can of the Black Metallic and experiment a little. -

I like how this color looks. The finish looks wet. Never thought that a metallic black base coat would show so well under the candy red. -

Looks great and I like the light coating of road dust. A lot of little details with the side mounted tools and the roof rack. -

I like the well-used look. Was this the Joe Dirt El Camino that Jim Carry drove? -
Beautiful looking color and finish. Enjoyed watching your build on this. What's next?

Sorry, I wondered off point. Mine is the Scratch X and was originally purchased to fix parking lot scrapes on your 1:1 cars. What we used to call "The Alpha Beta Rash" after the grocery stores in SoCal.

On the subject of differences between the Ford and Edsel bodies and the wagons in particular, there is some styling Q's that are unique to the Edsel. A good source for the Edsel specific taillights can be found in the old AMT Fairlane 500 kit. The Edsel taillights were one of the options in this old 3 in 1 kit. This can be built without it just depends on the builder's vision for this build.

Amazing attention to fine details being done here. -
This should be an interesting build. Way back when there were more than a few '57 and '58 Fords with Edsel front end sheet metal added either by design or to replace front end damage. The Edsel parts were cheaper second hand than the Ford parts at the time.

VW 5th Wheel Camper

I like the tow vehicle you're using even more than the one in the picture. The current issue of the magazine has another view of the model in your picture as well. -
Seeing how nice this is turning out I'm questioning why I never tried this kit. I think I just kept thinking about the original concept instead of what it could be.

Thank you for the additional pictures. A great looking cross section of vehicles as always. The black monte Carlo reminds me of a '72 Monte I picked up from the original owner years ago. Nothing extra special, just a 350/350 combo, but dead reliable even at 90k miles and didn't use a drop of oil and the trans was tight even while towing my 19' boat. Another one I should never have let get away.

I have started to use Scratch X on finished paint based on a recommendation by another builder here on the Forum. In my usage I think it falls somewhere close to the Tamiya Finish polish I have used in the past. I think it may actually leave a shinier appearance than the Tamiya products. As for the fine Meguiar products I usually find them at almost any chain store auto supply or even at Walmart.

AMT 1/25 2020/21/22 Dodge Charger R/T

I also bemoaned the release of the Dodge Charger with too many doors when it came out. I'm now driving my second one and they are great cars. This being the case I'll be buying a few of these kits for sure. Just wish it had the All-Wheel Drive system like the ones I have owned. -

The color looks great, would never have thought of putting the candy red over a blue base but it works. I like the wheels and tires along with the stance. -

The body and interior colors look great together. Like the smooth shinny paint work. -
Looks like something Ford could have or should have done.

Viva La Difference. They're both great looking cleanly built models of an A-Bone coupe, but your description of their different attitudes is very fitting.

Great looking color and this build is so cleanly detailed everywhere you look. The interior is a model all by itself.

Beautiful looking Riviera, and I like the tri-white wall tires. Haven't seen those in years. These were customs right off the showroom floor.

If you like them use them. Does seem to break up the slab sides of the body, but that's just one opinion. -
This is a great looking build and very cleanly done. The mention of the factory stripes brings one thing to mind. The kits decals look good, but the white doesn't always cover well over this dark of a color. I suggest getting a second set of stripe decals. Using two layers of decals should prevent any green showing thru. Had this same problem on a build even with a lighter body color.

In reading a current NHRA rule book these pictures help explain the reason for some of the safety items required in some classes. There are "blankets" required for super chargers and in some cases oil pans and transmission pans for just such reasons. While impressive to see this sort of thing happen in person in the past there are obvious reasons for the changes, and the track crews had a tough time cleaning up the track afterwards.

I know there used to be a Riva Boat dealer at Lake Tahoe some years ago. They have those cool looking headlights up under the bow.
