I have noticed some new TV ads for Air B&B and one in particular seems very funny to me. A family sets out for a get away and they load their cat into one of those cat carriers and the camera focuses on the cat and what the cats view would be from inside the carrier, We all know how well cats like to ride in cars, thus the carrier in order to protect you from the cat jumping all over inside the car when you're driving. As they arrive at the intended cabin in a rural setting the cat sees a glance of the cabin and it is a view that could almost look like someone with a chain saw might be along the path they are walking along. They arrive safely and it's very cozy inside and there is even a note and a small dish of Cat Kip waiting for them. Next scene the cat is flat on it's back spread eagle in the middle the floor not moving. The dialog is talking about the great personal experience staying at an Air B&B.

Is it me or does Robert Vaughn always look like he's constipated. He has often played the part of unlikable people in movies and it just looks to natural fore him. Being an Actor I realize his job is to be what ever the script and director call for him to be.

As a child I remember going to the local Ford dealer one evening to pick up our new '49 Ford Custom 4-door in Black with the V-8 and Overdrive. Stay'd in service until a parked car jumped out in front of my mother in the late '50's. You are very lucky to find one with what looks like minimal if any rust. I would go with a warmed over Flathead V-8, Interesting point on the stock Flathead 6, the torque between the two engines is very close. Might be fun to build a 6 just to be different.

I have not built either the Pontiac Bonneville or the Grand Prix. So my question to those who have built both of these is the kits basic bodies the same? The reason for the question is that since the 1:1 Bonny and the Grand Prix are two different wheel base bodies and chassis, The Grand Prix body and chassis is shared with the basic Catalina in 1:1. I do intend to build at least one of these but would prefer the shorter wheel base. Any insight to the twists and turns on these would be appreciated.

Great looking build. I remember when this firsat hit the market in the US. A neighbor down the dtreet from me bought a new one in Brown Mt. The body style always made me think of an early Mustang fastback.

Beautiful looking body work , when you do a major change to the body like this and have it look like the kit body was that way says a lot. The paint color and finish look great as well.

Wheel choices have so much to do with the overall look of any 1:1 car and the same with our models. Often you can use even the most basic wheel and with some color and or chrome treatment really make them stand out. Only my opinion, but the Military wheels detailed in a manor to show off any disc brakes behind them and a color and chrome treatment that looks right to you, Knockoffs, wait and see how they look both ways.

My wife will sometimes refer to my stash as her "widow's pension" . If I like the subject for most any reason I'll buy the kit even if I have some already. They call it "Plastic Compulsion Disorder",

They didn't mention how many models are in that case lot.

Great looking roadster. You did overcame some issues with this build but you would never know it now.

One of the reasons I'm not a fan of any of the car wash places that have a direct contact with the surface of the car is that dirt and grit doesn't always get washed off of the rags or anything else for that matter and that as well as any grit already that is on your car then gets rubbed into the surface of your paint and will often leave fine scratches in the paint. The high powered water jets seem to clean very well and don't leave any scratches. I do the blow dry and then chamois any water left around the trim and door frames.

A suggestion on lowering the front end. I would remove some of the material from the frame at the mounting point for the leaf springs. The spring looks to fit into a slot in the cross member. You could remove half of the thickness of the mounting point and this would allow the front axle to sit higher on the cross member and the front ride height to be that much lower. This would also keep the leaf spring intact.

I would say if the chassis looks as good as the body with no rust this should work well. A thought on your adventure at the car wash. I have started using local car washes that have the brushless drive thru units. Keep a good coat of wax on the finish and this type of car wash doesn't leave any scratches from brushes. I'm not a big fan of this style of vehicle either but my wife is so her new cars is of this style, I have to admit it's great for our Costco runs.

The general shape of the engine resembles the early '60's Johnson out board engine of around 35 hp.
