Amazing attention to fine details between your build and the subject. I also like the background information for the inspiration for your build. I find one thing very ironic about your personal background with Union Oil Company. At that same time I worked at the Colton Distribution Center in Colton Cal. When they had races at the Riverside Raceway I would help man the station in the pits at the raceway. My only interaction with the teams during NASCAR races was usually with members of the pit crews that would bring their red wagons around with a bunch of the ten gallon tip up cans. I enjoyed the clip you included showing Riverside and especially going thru the "S"'s. We would stand on top of our fuel truck trailer to try and see them get to the top of the rise at the end of the "S"'s but other than that we couldn't see much from the station in the pits. Hard to think that Riverside Raceway has been a shopping center for many years now.

Beautiful looking build. Great details everywhere you look. How did you do the pin striping decals on the flat paint on the body and have it not show ?? I like the Corvette hub caps, I remember when that was a thing to do.

I saw one of those in a parking lot last weekend, they had a sticker of a couple of Hamsters on the rear window looking just like the one from the TV ads.

The fit and finish is so clean looking and the perfect stance.

Many great videos and of course the story behind these cars are even more interesting. Looking at the the lightened front axle under the '57 you have to wonder if that would pass inspection today.

I think it was Farmers that had a commercial with a little boy playing on the sidewalk in front of the family two store house. He has a maybe 1/18th scale truck he's playing with when you hear the roar of an engine and the unmistakable sound of some sort of vehicle impact and the next thing you see is a full size Ford 4x4 fly through the air and land on the second story roof over the garage. Or the guy waiting in the drive thru line at the bank playing the drums on the steering wheel in time to the radio. He takes his foot off the brakes and rams the corner of the building setting fire to the car. Who wouldn't like to see a guy who wears is sweater over his shoulder like a cape get out of his red convertible just in time for a fresh load of cement to be dumped into it. The Subaru dogs are still my all time favorites. The "dad" notices the French Poodle in the cross walk and the "mother" growls ay him.

Beautiful looking body work and the paint looks great. I always liked the half roof style parts. Nice looking interior and I like how you even detailed the back of the front seat as well. The 1:1 car was a little stubby looking to me anyway, but the way you used the custom body parts makes it look much longer.

Beautiful clean looking build. I agree with you on the military colors especially on street rods like this. Makes it hard to figure out where that color came from. The chassis fits in just like it came in the kit.

Great looking little buggy. I like how you got the over the top metal flake gel coat of the day. Good looking exhaust system, that would be load without a muffler.

Great looking paint finish. Wheels are such a personal preference thing you just need to use what ever wheel makes you happy. Maybe have another set ot two incase you're in a different mood one day.

Depending on what style you're wishing to build there is no reason you couldn't use wheels from most any other kit. You could use painted steel wheels or chrome. Looking at the options from all the kits out there I'm sure you could find something you like better. Save the Foose wheels for a future build of something else or trade with some on the forum.

Your real estate market may be like ours and from what I have seen most everyone else. Unless you want to pay north of $225.00 per square foot you're not going to get a really good quality build, at least in this area. The materials not to mention the craftsmanship just isn't what it was 20 years ago when we built our previous home. The old house was a custom build and not what I call a "track house". Even in top condition with zero defects according to their building inspection, 1/2 an acer over looking a 24 acer lake and that only brings $150.00 to $158.00 per square foot used. Not counting the lot this home could not be reproduced for that price. So depending on what your life style needs are you may be better looking at a late model home that fits your needs and end up with a better built home in the end. New homes are great in many ways but you have to look at what you're getting for your money. For just the two of us this works fine. The down stairs addition, completing a half bath by adding a shower and finishing a portion of the basement as a bedroom, which was an option the builder offered, will raise the value of the home by more than the cost of the improvements and I get my model room back just like the old house. I sure miss that oversized three car garage though. Good luck to you no matter which way you go.
