I had no idea we could sand blast our models. After seeing it done you wonder why I didn't think possible long ago. Great information watching him on YouTube.

Try looking in the after market section on the forum. There is a list of many suppliers and some offer door handles and window cranks and more. I have found it is a good idea to look there every now and then just to see what is being offered by the after market.

I have used both Testors and Tamiya products. I haven't had any issues with using Tamiya over a Testors paint in the past but I would still recommend a plastic spoon test before going to far on any build no matter what product you end up using. The Tamiya flat clear is just slightly glosser that the Testors flat clear and the semi-gloss is just a shade or so glosser as well. This is why I also have used a lot of Testors in the past, but as you pointed out it is going the way of the DoDo bird.

Actually the bumper parting lines on this are better than most from that era of model building. This was just a common issue at the time but we didn't have the chrome options we have today.

I really like the cowl hood and front spoiler. I guess I never realized that you were going with a big block. Had I known I could have sent you a few big block emblem decals from the '66 El Camino kit. The stance and the narrow white walls with the chrome rims, always liked that look.

Nice smooth looking paint and I like the paint color. The wheels really make this look special.

Great looking paint and the trim is all razer sharp.

Besides looking like it means business, I like the spots of primer on the body. Can't tell you how many cars I have owned that never got beyond that.

Sharp looking paint work. I like the little 327 flags on the front fenders.

You have the front end coming together nicely. I also always hated those mold marks on the bumpers from that era. never understood why they couldn't figure out a better place to make the mold lines that would have been out of sight. The Spastix paint seems to blend well.

Great show and thank you for sharing. I like the black Bel Air paint, you can see a perfect reflection of a guy in white shorts and a blue shirt looking at it. Tells you all you need to know about the quality of that paint job. So many clean and interesting cars and truck and nice to see they included a great bike turnout as well.

Cool looking scooter. You might see how the 75th graphics are applied, often they are done with a film of some sort with the graphics printed on them and not painted. While still new try using a hair dryer or a heat gun to soften the film and you may be able to remove the graphics. I have done this on a few new cars that I didn't care for the graphic package and the sooner it's removed the less chance of any residue being left on the paint work.

Both are great looking builds. At first I was going to comment on how good they both looked and then I read your remark about the time frame and then in the last two pictures you can see the paint issues you mention on the white car. Still to have a model hold up this well over so many years says a lot about the workmanship and materials used long ago.

You mention that you have a '62 Pontiac Tempest with a 4 cyl. engine and a four barrel carb. ?? Is the engine upright or does it lean toward the passenger front fender ??

I have to agree. Been here a few years and never have considered going anywhere else. I can remember a couple of bullies showing up but they don't last very long. The best part besides the encouragement from other members is if you have a problem or are unsure about something the wealth of knowledge and willingness to help or make suggestions as amazing.

I love them both. Great looking paint work with very clean trim. These are both great kits to build and just like the 1:1 there is no end to what a builder can do with them. Nice to see them in their OEM showroom look.
