Great looking build. Fun to replicate a vehicle from the past that meant something to you. Funny how that color has become popular again.

Great looking body work and the paint is super smooth looking. I like how you did the bed floor with the boards running crosswise. -

Following some of the current trends in the 1:1 truck builds really makes this build look like something you would see at a Good Guy's show. The changes to the body improve the body proportions. The finish is very realistic looking and I like how you made the bed wood look like it is sun beached. -
I like the color combination on this. These are usually built with the bright colors that MoPars were known for at the time. This has a cleaner more modern look.

Great looking showroom type build. I like how you did the wood bed on this as well.

Nice looking Nova. I like the added stripes.

I like the metal flake paint. Nice clean looking interior and engine.

Outstanding paint work and the color is real eye catching. I like the modern twist on the '50's custom styling Q's.

I thought your first picture was of a real car. Beautiful paint finish and really like the build style. -
Sounds like everyone else is having auto fitment problems also. I'm 6' 2" and north of 275 lbs. As I've gotten older tucking my head down when getting into or out of a car has become more and more difficult. My current daily driver is a '18 Charger and it's hard to get in without scraping the top or back of my head. You would think that a car of this size would provide enough leg room as well, but in my case my right leg is in constant contact with the consol. My wife's Dodge Avenger is like wearing a tight fitting pair of pants even as a passenger. Several years ago I sold a car I dearly loved because I almost got knocked out hitting my head on the door frame getting out of the car. When I retired I bought a new '05 GTO and once inside I had all kinds of room for my legs and shoulders and my head even cleared the headliner when driving. As a much younger man I owned a '69 Camaro and it had more room than any of the current cars that I have seen in the market. The new Dodge Ram is starting to look better and better to me.

Hard to believe this is the same truck. Beautiful restoration and I like the stock build style. -

I like the aging of the trucks finishes, very realistic looking. Your description of the respray can be seen on the fire wall and the edges of the front fenders. Just the right amount of metal cancer on the bed and bottom of the doors. After sitting outdoors year round with rain and melted snow coming out of the bed when driven explains the rusted tail gate and rear bumper. I like your little story but the finish on this tells so much about a life of service. -
Great looking dark Blue paint work.

'69 Dart GTS...just like I would have built it in '69

Great looking color and a super smooth finish. Very nice interior and is that an 8 track player ? -
Beautiful looking redo. The color is perfect for this and was a popular Corvette color at that time. Very clean trim.
-
Beautiful looking paint and finish. I like how you detailed the interior
-
Great looking body and paint. You would never know how much body work you had to do to get this to look the way it does. The interior looks great and the wheels and stance set it off nicely.

I like the roof vent/scoop idea. I remember seeing pictures in the "little books" when these were new and the owners would customize them. I think some of the idea came from what GM was doing with the roofs on the '58 Impala and Pontiacs. The scallops idea would also look good. Maybe do the roof and the scallops in the same as the interior .

There are many builders opinions as to when to foil and clearcoat. I would check how others are going about it and then experiment a little and figure out which way works best for you. Then there is always the chrome pen options.
-
Sorry for not noticing that you clearly put in capitol letters that this build was at some ones request and not your first build, My bad. You mentioned a problem with the foil not adhering well. A somewhat common problem when starting a new sheet of foil is that the film from the edges of the sheet sometimes don't seem to stick as well.
-
Don't be to hard on yourself especially since you mentioned this is your first model car. The body paint looks good, smooth finish and an even color. The foil takes time but once you get the hang of it I think you'll like how it looks. You mentioned the wheels having a toy like chrome finish. Try using a light wash of Tamiya Smoke brushed on a spare wheel. This will knock down a little of the shine and some will settle in around some of the wheels details and make them look more realistic. I think it looks very nice for your first model car build.

I have had good luck making exhaust tips from aluminum tubing. The tubing is soft enough that the ends can be flared as neded using a construction type nail. They can also be polished for a nice shinny finish. I use tubing that has an inside diameter that just slips over what ever exhaust material you're using. Look forward to following your build and the adventures of Det. McNally.

Just watching, and hearing that landing hurt.

I have mentioned problems in the past about the Coffee company I order my coffee from. Well I ordered my coffee on May 6. Their site shows 3 to 5 business days for delivery. They E-Mailed me that it was shipped May 14 and today they're wanting me to rate the coffee I ordered. I replied that their coffee still hadn't gotten here May 17. Eleven days and counting on their 3 to 5 business days for delivery. Already bought a bag of local coffee to tied me over until my order gets here. Hope I got enough.

The lowering of the front suspension for the kit can be done by making new spindles for the front and the blocks between the rear axle and the leaf springs in the rear. Since the differential and leaf springs a one part on this kit you'll need to cut them apart and create new spring mounts.
