  1. I like your build idea. Very impressive engine room detailing. I'm looking at the Radiator Over Flow Tank and wondering how you got such a realistic finish on it.
  2. Hay man, calm down. You could always dress up as the Grinch just to mess with them.
  3. I have to agree with the others here, this seems to be a well researched and written article. I hope you are able to get the city to do something in her honor. It is very sad what happened to this young girl, and unfortunately this same type of thing still is happening today. I truly which it all was different both then and now.
  4. The Mirrors are always a problem. What I described is how I pack my models when I go to a show. I have had to reattach some small trim parts in the past when I got to the show so this may not work for you.
  5. Since you're going to ship your model I would also suggest protecting the model inside the cover also. I would use a very soft towel or something on that order that would not scratch the paint surface. The cover could be attached with a rubber band or some tape. Then place the case in a larger box with some foam particles from UPS or Office Depot I think sells them.
  6. Do they have any information on the box ??
  7. Beautiful looking Chevy. Great paint job and I also like the modified engine. My father had a '41 coupe before he was drafted. He got a '46 or '47 after the War and sold it to get a new '49 Ford. I have a suggestion on your skirt mounting problem. I have seen were other builders have used magnets to hold a door shut. I think if you were to glue a magnet inside the body and a couple of very small magnets on the back side of the skirts that could work.
  8. My Wife and I had planed to be in San Antonio the week to visit the River Walk. Her work just didn't allow us the time off at this time. I got up this morning and turned on the TV News. First picture on screen when they're talking about the weather is a picture of the Alamo which is just across the street from where we stay on the River Walk and it's SNOWING ! What Thaa ?? Glad now we staid home.
  9. I would not recommend gluing the tires to the base. There might come a day you want to display some other model or just remove the model for cleaning. The models I've seen "mounted" usually are tied in someway to the base. Unless you plan to ship the model to someone or plan on it getting knocked around I'd just leave it in the case, and be sure the tires don't allow the model to roll around.
  10. Beautiful looking build. Very clean and a well detailed interior. The local Buick Club has a large display of their members cars every year at the Autorama. They have several GSs and a couple GSXs on display. One in particular is a GSX in white with the Hood Tach., Rear Spoiler, and the Front Spoiler which is supposed to be the prototype that was on a very limited availability . They also have a Black GSX on display. They really look good.
  11. Great looking conversion. Kind of an extended cab of the day.
  12. I guess I misunderstood just what you were trying to accomplish. If you're trying for a flat or semi gloss finish, for example the area between the tail lights on say a '67 thru '69 Camaro, I would try Tamiya products using a brush or spray with a lot of masking of the surrounding area. I'm have not used 1k clear so it maybe that a very light sanding of the area may be needed so that what ever paint you use can get some "bite" for adhesion.
  13. Was this your family's car at one time and just how much do you know about the background of the car?? My family had a '56 Chevrolet 210 Sedan. Looking at the picture, and I understand that some of what I'm seeing in the photo may just be a scratch or something, there looks to be 3 Trim mounting holes above the rear wheel opening and maybe on the drivers door. Was this car repainted or had body work done ? Maybe even a color change if it was repainted. The Trunk Emblem would indicate a 6 cylinder engine. The Chrome Trim along the divide between the White top and the body color would have been present on a 210 model but not the 150, at least in the US. I know that many of the US based cars sold there at that time often used different colors and trim so it's hard to tell.
  14. Very clean looking build. I like your Super Bee series.
  15. Another great build. Best paint as always. Nice to see you put a little Hot Rod touch on a build every now and then.
  16. Beautiful build. Great paint job.
  17. That paint job is outstanding. Great engine detailing.
  18. I like the way you "aged" the finish, very realistic looking.
  19. The '57 Chevy kit is nice to have again but disappointed that they were unable to include the chopped top from the first issue. I'm glad to see the Chevy pickup back and since I used to have a Union 76 station and eventually went to work for Union Oil Company at one of the distribution centers I'll have fun with the decals in that kit. The Buick looks like one I may want to build also.
  20. Great looking build. Even in a Barn the surface rust starts on the chassis and suspension since those parts had little or no paint to protect them. Ya this deserves it's own Diorama for sure.
  21. Very clean well built model. I like the Ford Y Block engine you used.
  22. Very nice. I also like the style of wheels you used.
  23. Neat looking Datsun and an LS engine. I see an inspiration for another model project.
  24. Glad to see this is still moving forward. I have enjoyed watching your "Wood" making.

    Scion XB

I also like the pickup idea. After seeing the pictures of the 1:1 truck conversions they look even more interesting. Great job on the conversion work on this. Are you going to keep its XB identity or make it look like a GM truck as shown in the photos ?
