  1. I like that Laguna. This body style was very popular at that time in the 1:1, but never got the kits based on it that I would have thought. Very nice conversion.
  2. Looks real good and I like that color.
  3. Are you going to cast these ?
  4. It's just me, but I think all of the newer trucks regardless of manufacture have just gotten to big and all look like Tonks Trucks on steroids. I have owned full size 1/2 ton pickups thru the years but the newer ones are just seem overdone to me. If, and that's a very big if, I were going to get a new truck I would look at the Dodge and the GM offerings. While I have owned Ford pickups they were from the mid '50's and the time frame was the mid to late '60's. Traded my '60's El Camino for a '74 Chevy C-10 Step Side and customized it to my liking. This was replaced by a '79 Chevy. Step Side that I also customized and was used to tow a Ski Boat. The last one was a '95 Chevy X-Cab short bed that I also lowered and built a 383 Stroker Motor for it added the usual wheels and tires, sold it in 2010. That truck was like docking a boat when you tried to park it. My point is that the new trucks make the '95 look like a Mini Truck in size difference. These things have grown to the point that the DMV should have to test and issue special drivers licenses to anyone wanting to drive one of these things.
  5. I agree with you on the Grease movie cars. Who ever the advisor was had little or no knowledge of what the cars would have looked like in the time frame of the movie. The movie it's self was very entertaining some of the props used were lacking. Of course LNJ was enough to make someone leave and write bad checks but that's another matter. As for American Graffiti that was dead on in almost every level you can think of. I'm of a generation that can relate to that movie in every way and the cars were perfect . I feel that at sometime in my high school years I knew each and everyone of the characters in that movie.
  6. What a great idea in both scale and 1:1.
  7. OK I didn't know for sure as I haven't built either one.
  8. Just got back from HL. They had this kit with Smoke and the Bandit livery on the self. I have no idea but what it may have been out for a while, the only reason I noticed was because of the post.
  9. If the fidelity of the kit is even close to the pictured model this should be very big for anyone wanting to do a nice NASCAR build. I don't recall the Oldsmobile in this body style being done before.
  10. Do you know if this is the same engine that GM used in the Monte Carlo Turbo's or was it the Chevrolet engine in them ?
  11. Your fear of the "tomorrow" happened "Yesterday". We're all $!@#$%*.
  12. That's a great looking build. Maybe a silly question, but I think this was issued with a "Pontiac" engine. Many of the 1:1's were offered with the 403 cu in Olds engine because of emissions issues. Does anyone know if the Turbo model had the Chevrolet engine that I think the 1:1 was based on?
  13. Why all the "hate" on this kit ? If you don't like the subject then don't buy it. I along with more than a few others would welcome it back on the shelves. My hope would be that they could include all of the custom parts also so you could build it anyway you want or just "mine" it for parts. The movie version is a disservice to an otherwise good looking "Fat Fender" Ford.
  14. I like your concept and would like to see a 1:1 version. The only problem would be the Lottery thing. I'll enjoy watching your build.
  15. That is really cool. I have seen some of his work before, I think he has a presents on the Aftermarket segment of the Forum, and his builds are just unbelievable.
  16. Interesting car. I apologize I have been watching the Mura S video over and over.
  17. As many may know, Round 2 has reissued the Studebaker, Chevy II, Falcon and the Mustang. The Barracuda has been reissued as the Hurt Hemi Under Glass a couple of times. I personally would like to see the Tempest reissued but with the option of a standard wheel base, but that's just me. The Corvette would be easy to recreate since the reissued '63 is on the shelves now. The Comet would also be nice to have back if the molds are still around, I would prefer the hardtop but maybe it could be done with the option of either roof. I don't think I ever saw the Olds F-85 kit but obviously it was done.
  18. Great looking build. Excellent detailing on the engine and the interior. Congrats on the well deserved Trophy.
  19. Sad to hear of his passing. He is among the finest drivers, and engineers of all time. He always had a gentle smile and very easy way about him. In the late '60's I work for Union Oil Company out of the Colton Ca. Distribution Center. When there was any racing activity at the Riverside Raceway I would be at the "station" in the pits to help with the dispensing of Race Gas for the competitors. He would pass by sometimes and he would acknowledge people with a nod or a smile and was always approachable. The interviews I have seen he always seemed like a very kind person.
  20. Are you using primer as a base coat first ? If not I think you will find any paint Testors or otherwise just doesn't cover well. If you are using a primer maybe you haven't gotten all of the pigment that settles to the bottom of the bottle mixed in.
  21. Very nice clean looking model. I'd forget the decals since I think it would takeaway from how nice it looks without.
  22. Looks amazing especially when you look at what you had to start with.
  23. I wonder where they got the roof for the master. The roof looks to large for the body on this.
  24. That's wild.
  25. Major surgery here. I like the way you toke the "crown" out of the roof. This always seemed a little high to me. The Mustang front end really works. That kit might be a good source for a chassis also.
