  1. A Custom/Hot Rod combo. Best of both worlds, I really like the paint color.
  2. Very nice clean build.
  3. You might want to look around. I know that Hobby Lobby isn't in your area but I'm sure you have something similar, today they had a couple of the roadsters on the shelf so they are around.
  4. Great looking color, excellent detail on the wheels and front hubs.
  5. I built one of the original issues of this model. I just walked over to the display case and sure enough there is no "glass" for the vent window, I just never noticed. I'll call it a senior moment.
  6. At first I thought you were showing a picture of the 1:1 and then your model. That is truly impressive looking.
  7. Beautiful clean build. The paint is outstanding. Almost makes you want to sign up for 60 easy payments .
  8. I remember the movie well, mostly for the Camaro . I remember when in the movie they had to paint it flat black after the "robbery". The dish slotted mags you used are more of the street look of the time. Which model is your build based upon ??
  9. Turned out beautifully. It would seem that the original builder couldn't makeup his mind as to what color he wanted. I don't think I've ever seen that thick of paint, O wait there is a restored '60 Ranchero here on the forum that may be close.
  10. Going to enjoy watching this build. I really enjoyed the Trans Am series years ago. In '69 and '70 I worked for Union Oil Company and one of my duties was to help at Riverside Raceway whenever there were races. I worked at the service station in the pits and got to see many of these cars up close, I should of had my camera.
  11. Your color combo looks great. I really like the way it sits.
  12. I have used the clear plastic that comes from around the neck of a new dress shirt. They are very thin and will bend if needed. There are many other sources around the house if you look for a while.
  13. I almost never make any purchases Wal Mart for this very reason. When I get to the checkout it seams as though at least one or two items never ring up as marked on the package or the display area. Can't prove if this is by design or just sloppy workers. Now with the proliferation of self checkout they can now say it was your error if you catch it. Now add your experience to how many other shoppers and you can see a great ripoff in action by Wal Mart. One of the local TV stations did a report last year on this very type of thing and Wal Mart was the biggest offender.
  14. Those valve covers are for real on GMC V-6 engines at that time. I used to have a Union 76 station years ago and had a customer who bought a new GMC truck. We were talking and knowing I was a gear head he said he had a big surprise for me. He then lifted the hood and we both had a good laugh at the valve covers. GMC did this to imply economy with the V-6. These were great torque engines, gas economy not so much.
  15. The top shouldn't be an issue and Revell has done this before on the '65 Chevrolet C-10. My belief is that it would enable them to add greater body detail. I would just snip off the metal axles in the front so that they only went into the spindle . I also look forward to getting several of these kits.
  16. I wonder how it would look without the vent windows ??
  17. Beautiful build. Are the doors functional or did you glue them shut ?? The color combo is perfect for that time period.
  18. Beautiful build. Just watched Mecum on TV this weekend and looks like a Nova they had at auction. I really need to try that color , it looks great.
  19. Very nice build. Just looks right. You might think about a "black wash" on the grill to give it a little more depth.
  20. Very clean build. Nice engine detailing, specially the fuel lines.
  21. Beautiful build, and you're correct it looks like a '40's type build. Very clean assembly and detailing. Surprised by the column shift.
  22. Very nice out of box. I like the Gulf livery idea.
  23. Very well built. I liked the Pearl White color. Nice chassis detailing.
  24. Glad to see this back on the bench. Have you finalized the body color or is it going to match the interior ??
  25. So much great craftsmanship here. You always make it look so easy.
