  1. Beautiful build, great paint job. The rims look perfect on this.
  2. Beautiful build. Unfortunately most people don't remember just how nice these cars were.
  3. Beautiful paint job. Just how hot were these cars ? As Bill Geary mentioned they were not to be messed with. I had a '68 Bel Air with a 427 and 4-speed, that weighed in at 4300 lbs., and I didn't even get a good look at the guys tail lights.
  4. Just a thought on the interior. If Fran had done nothing to the interior as you are thinking maybe it would be the old Mohair material. If that is something you would consider I have used Model Masters spray Fabric Tan and Fabric Gray and if looks very convincing.
  5. The body work is just perfect and it's great to see a well built Flathead for power. I don't know what to tell you on the paint issues, I only use paint from the same "family" for this reason. Hopefully with time the paint will gas out and all will be good.
  6. I tend to agree on the darker tan interior idea, but with the colors your using you might try an aged dark green colored interior. I'm thinking something like an aged maybe even cracked old leather look. Try it on a spoon and see if it even looks right to you.
  7. I have enjoyed watching all of your repairs and modifications on this '58. Have you thought of using a '57 hood or is that not in your plans ?
  8. I like how this is coming together. Looking to see how you do the bed.
  9. Very realistic interior. Are the red stripes a decal ? The kits wheels are pretty open so any brake detail should stand out.
  10. Beautiful chassis and engine. I like the interior also. I've never built this kit, but I will consider it after seeing yours. I have just started using the Molotow pen and wondered how I ever lived without it.
  11. You are both correct. My Bad, I misspoke on this one. As you pointed out the '55 is very disproportioned front end. I actually have an AMT '53 Ford F-100 sitting on my side board for a build this year sometime. I was at the Hartland Show this weekend and picked up a Foose F-100. Guess what I'm starting next. This kit is really great and looks like what a '56 shoulda kouda looked like. As mentioned before I personally think the '56 F-100 was Ford's best looking truck but that is only my opinion.
  12. Perfect !! Your color choice gives the model a very elegant look. Great job on the trim, and even the red fender liners.
  13. The only pop up I'm getting today is for Lowes so that sort of tells you all about my life. Last week I was checking on tires for my wife's car and Tire Rack has been hunting me also. Ya those Russkis are into everything now I guess. They are taking over the lonely hearts clubs now.
  14. Very sad, he did so much for the Speed Parts Industry, and was a great person.
  15. As Tim has pointed out there are many alterations to the body of the Foose truck. The biggest challenge from my point of view would be the roof section. I say this because of the extensive work done just in front of the windshield. This area had major surgery done. Could it be restored to something close to a factory body ?? This is beyond my skill set. I'm sure there are many here capable of doing this, but it would be hard. As for putting the Foose roof on the '53 AMT Ford, that's a start but you still have the issues of the '53 body. The body almost looks to tall and the hood and grill area has never looked correct to me. I for one would love to have a bone stock '56 Ford with the Big rear Window kitted. I have owned two different '56 Fords thru the years, one a standard small window and the other had the big window. So if Revell or Moebius would kit a stock '56 Big Window I think they would have a winner on their hands.
  16. Really nice looking hauler. I don't remember ever seeing that kit before.
  17. I look forward to this. The Hull is shaped like a Tug Boat but It will still be interesting to revisit this kit.
  18. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the Foose Truck. I think it would be best to do a little research on the 1:1 to see all of the changes that his father directed to be done. Even people that seem to know something about the truck are confused about what all was really done. It would take a great deal of work to return this to an exact stock '56 pick-up. Why not just enjoy it for what it is, and if you would rather than just use the parts you like and through the rest in the parts box for the future.
  19. Great save. The wheels remind me of the engines Rotor. Ya it needs to be a little lower, but it looks good.
  20. Outstanding detail work. That really does look delicate.
  21. I moved to the KC Metro area in '96 and I think the first show I attended was in '98 or '99 when the show was in down town KCK. I have been to every one of the shows since except for last year. Jeep Jamboree was on the same weekend. Same problem this year but the Model Show won out.
  22. Even Castro Super Clean can effect some resins. I lost one that way.
  23. Do you have all of the broken pieces ?? If you have the piece broken out of the rear deck it could be glued back in place and then a little body filler and it should be good. After that strip the paint and you're ready to start over.
  24. List what you need in the Wanted section on the forum. Someone is going to have what you need, and that Buick is going to need a lot of love.
  25. I hope someone remembers their camera.
